The season has been very hit and miss, not many great games, but a lot to do with injuries, manager constantly rotating, playing at Wembley, International Breaks. The whole season has not really flowed. Hopefully next season will be much more settled, back at the new ground, maybe some additions, and not so many injuries.

That said I love it when Spurs play, whether good or bad.

You haven't really played that well though have you, is it that simple? I don't remember seeing Spurs battering teams and playing the type of football you have previously (bar Everton away. You've been functional at getting results with lots of 1 goal winning margins and late winners which is great, but certainly nothing like you have been the last 2 or 3 years.

This basically

We were great against Chelsea at home and Everton away. Good second half away at United snd home to Dortmund.

Other than that I haven’t enjoyed it. Though I’ve enjoyed our CL run after the first three games, getting the draw needed at Barca and then sweeping aside Dortmund.

I think this Spurs team peaked about 2 years ago.

I also think the sale of Dembele was a mistake.

Eriksen is a very good player but I think his best days are behind him.

The big worry for Spurs is the number of defeats (10) - that's a third of your season being beat.

You better hope you get top 4 because I really think it may be the moment where Harry Kane considers his future. His next 3-4 years should be his best playing days.

The stadium may help convince him to stay - but who knows?

should of used the Sanchez and Aurier money to replace Walker and Dembele appropriately. Simple as that.

We will just have to use the money we get for Trippier to replace Dembele and Walker.

Completely understand where you're coming from and have been feeling the same myself. It's hard to describe.

Similar to yourself I don't leave near the area (midlands) so rely more on media to keep in touch with the goings on, often trying to find a stream or listening on the radio/following the live BBC text during matches if all else fails.

We are in danger of becoming in the same predicament Arsenal were in around 5-6 years ago (Champions League football becoming the end goal, and thus becoming stale), I fear, with meaningful differences, but with the same end result.

By meaningful differences I mean the fact that we've got into the position we are in now on an upward trajectory. In the not too distant past we all know we were in mid table obscurity, with the odd star player never staying long before leaving for the big boys (Berbatov, Carrick, Modric, Bale etc) whereas Arsenal were winning the title going unbeaten, and have dropped down into a position they are now in, and we've kind of met in the middle.

This made seeing them celebrate Top 4 away at Newcastle like they'd just won the quadruple seem silly. Don't get me wrong, if we'd pipped them, we would have celebrated like that, because as I said, that would have been a huge step for us at the time.

Now we've made that step, with the stadium delay (don't get me wrong, the stadium itself is magnificent), lack of signings, lack of a real challenge in any cup (getting knocked out in semi finals to Chelsea on a consistent basis), losing to Juve quite pitifully when we should have seen the game out, scraping third last season with poor end of season games, and seeing players seemingly regress such as Rose, Lloris, Trippier, Dembele, even Toby somewhat, it's all understandably gone a bit flat, leading to recent poor results.

As you mention, even when we've won this season, for some reason that excitement has not been there. I remember some games vividly from the end of the 16/17 season when we were playing so well, I couldn't wait for the next match to come. Bournemouth 4-0, Watford 4-0, Arsenal 2-0, Chelsea 2-0, WBA 4-0, we were just battering teams. We beat Bournemouth 5-0 this season at Wembley. Great performance, but I just didn't get the same thrill. Really difficult to explain why, but I just didn't. Maybe our expectation is too high.

Like I said... I don't wanna sound overly negative but this has just been a really weird season... hopefully there will be some end of season highlights...... knowing us we'll prob win the CL !!!!

Looking back at the highlights

1) seeing Messi live @ Wembley
2) going to Dortmund, great experience & result
3) home to chelsea.. best performace of the season by miles

BUT i don't look at it thinking how great Kane, Eriksen, Dele, Sonny or Hugo etc have been...... It all feels very "functional" & very unlike Spurs

-----------

so sell without replacing him was a poor poor decision.

not even a loan signing

Didnt understand why we didnt make a move for that lad that went on loan to Leicester from Monaco.... Looks a great player..... always looking forward with his head up

Having said all I've said above, if we get out of this season in 3rd/4th having not spent a penny, not forgetting some of the injuries we've had, selling Dembele without a replacement, and still finishing above at least two of Chelsea, Utd and Arsenal, then Poch deserves heaps of praise.

And those three teams will really need to take a long hard look at themselves .

I bang on snout the sale of Dembele to my mates and will do so here.

Absolutely disgraceful decision by the club. I usually back Levy but he wants stringing up by his balls for sanctioning that decision.

Yeah it made no sense. Sure he wanted to go & we all understood his physical limitations but he always seem like he had a great relationship with the club and I'm sure would have waited until the summer. Having 11mln quid does nothing to offset not having him for the remainder of the season. Pure greed by Levy when he refuses to strengthen our squad when its stretched thin and lacks quality in key areas

Lack of transfers and Wembley have made it an unenjoyable season. Watching Trippier/Aurier fack up every week and having no centre mids has been so frustrating.

The Dembele sale with no replacement (when Tielemans was available as an easy ready made replacement) really facked me off and could well cost us champions league.

Positive side has been the champions league run.

Hopefully the new stadium gives us all a lift.

I think this season has had the usual highs, lows and mediocrity. We're probably feeling more down about it now because of the recent poor form.

When we look back at this season - probably in one of sky's "PL review of 2018-19" programmes - it will really strike home what we've had to deal with this season and how remarkable finishing in the top 4 (if that's what we do) is.

Some say, much like dogs mirror their owners, football teams mirror their managers.

Poch is a bit boring really.

Your games against City should be good though and the top four race looks like going down to the wire, maybe even GD.

Bit harsh on Poch, who, say what you like about him has done a remarkable job with no backing. Problem with Poch is that he's clearly a pretty "deep thinker" who unfortunately likes to run his mouth and his English isn't always great. To his credit, Mike Riley aside, he's not a prlck like Jose and keeps his emotions in check (unlike Klopp) who I do like/ respect
