If Meunier of PSG is available as rumoured, we should go for him if the price is right - quality player.

Matt Doherty also looks useful.

I agree with your analysis of our current three RB's.

Palace RB should be a target but think we will be priced out... so probably will have to shop on the continent. lets avoid france given our track record of bringing in players from that league !!

Can we just have a word with whoever is doing the scouting/ recruitment @ Wolves ? There's a club that has their shlt together.... Expected them to do well this year but they have exceeded my expectations

I read on BBC an article where Rose said he can't wait to leave football. He was reacting to the racism and politics involved which is all fair but to me I think he's head isn't in it at all.

He's been moaning a lot recently about all sort of things and I might be reading too much into his comments but once his career ends he's not exactly going to completely avoid racism.

I'm not convinced he's enjoying himself and is properly motivated. We need to start looking at LB options as well.

They've just bought Jimenez for £30m. I don't think we would have ever offered that amount of money for him.

LB, RB and central midfield are critical to improve.

Davies has gone backwards over the last year and a half. Rose obviously hates the game at the moment. And pretty spot on analysis about the 3 RBs in the OP. Full backs are key to our attacking game, which has seen that side struggle too in last 2 seasons.

Directly to OP, I think we should keep Aurier because I believe with a run of games to boost confidence and hopefully remaining injury-free he will be an asset. Whether he gets either or both of those however is questionable.

Trippier i will not be disappointed to lose one bit. He was good for a period but basically become #1 right back by default with Walker's departure.

AWB and Tierney would be great signings IMO if looking at domestic players.

I would keep trippier over Aurier who is absolutely rubbish.

Bring in AWB and loan out kwp for a season and see how he gets on

Tierney is a LB

And if he does leave, which I hope he doesn't, I think Poch is exactly the type of manager he'd thrive under. Levy won't pay the asking fee though.

we know he's a LB. We need a left and right back,

Sorry mate, just going by the OP.

Biased though I am, he's a stand out in they way VVD was a stand out, mistakes are rare and hes only 21. Though he's absolutely shattered at the minute, played about 50+ games this season.

lets see, like you say, every right to price us out and he sounds worth it. But spurs wouldnt pay.

VVD..Wanyama too. Strange Wanyama's decline, think hes really been impacted by injuries.

Surprised at Wanyama too, beast of a player when fully fit but as you say that seems to becoming rarer and rarer.

What's the asking fee?

With all due respect, Celtic from memory have never been a team that's demanded a massive sum for transfers and stuck to their original demand.

Your record sale is Dembele for £20m? Nothing in today's market if that's the going rate for Tierney for example.

comment by Hector (U3606)

No idea, yes we're a relatively cheap market in comparison to your league but I'd expect him to be more than £20m, him being 'one of our own' a proper fans favourite, we'd have to have something to salve his loss.

That is so true mate, Lester also, do we even have a scouting system, maybe one of the cutbacks made by Levy

comment by Spurtle (U1608)

posted on 5/4/19

Yeah our scouts need to look further afield than the French league and Ajax. Must be plenty of bargains out there in Spain and Germany.

posted on 5/4/19

Agree with all that but I would keep Trips as back up. Trippier is more than good enough as a back up right back. Sell Aurier - not good enough and far to erratic. KWP we will see how he develops, but a very lightweight. Have to admit wasn’t sure of the hype surrounding the palace right back, but he wa outstanding against Spurs. Bring him in Baldy!!!

I can see you guys going for Max Aarons

If anyone's getting sold it's Aurier because having non-homegrown backups isn't a great plan. Which is why Wan-Bissaka and Tierney are absolute no-brainers as potential signings - frees up space to sign non-homegrown players elsewhere.

The fosun group who own Wolves have a stake in Jorge Mendes’ company, Mendes is a top football agent and so most of the players they have signed both on loan and permanently have been on his books.

We don’t have such a connection but you’d think we’d have a better scouting system then the one we have.

Here's a poster who speaking a little sense!
Toby is leaving ..... who replaces him?
And don't tell me SAnchez - a Levy mistake second only to Aurier.
