He will be at the start of the season, will he still be there by either
A the first match against Derby
or
B at Xmas.
Given the recent changes in management at ours and the sheep, this match is starting to be the barometer for ‘longevity’. The last time we had the same managers in the dug out for consecutive Forest v Derby matches was ages ago.

While we keep sacking managers at Christmas, the new guy is always going to look poor in the tougher second half of the season; remember Forest were already looking poor before Karanka left/was forced out, whatever.

We hit the post twice yesterday and scored what was perhaps a lucky goal. We will never achieve anything or have a tight-nit cohesive squad until a manager gets two years and two preseasons to build his squad and develop his team.

I actually don't think he wants to get us promoted with this team/squad then potentially struggle in the early part of the premier league? I reckon they'll be a big clear out before next season.

I hope he isn't here. The list for him leaving is quite long.

I don't trust his man-management (they aren't playing for him), his tactics (hit it long against teams who have played this way for decades) his talent acquisition (ok, but leaves out talented players for grafters).

Colback likely won't sign and Lolley off to Villa if they go up. Carvalho sold or loaned for a team of grafters. Byram back to West Ham and who are we left with? Wouldn't surprise me if Appiah is flogged also....for a war chest...a war chest of guff.

If we have any real notions or aspirations of promotion or at least progressing as a club we need to move him along. Quite simply the game has long passed him by, his tactics are completely illogical, player selection are atrocious and looking at the recent performances it looks like he's already losing the dressing room. His time at Ireland absolutely spiraled into chaos by the end at which point his teams were so negative that it didnt even resemble anything that could be remotely described as enjoyable watchable football, which is a pattern already forming in his Forest team!

A truly awful wasteful appointment and one that needs rectifying urgently, this season is gone so lets not burn next season as well before it even starts.

I’ll judge him when he has a fully fit squad and he has had a summer to form up his own squad.

All managers should have at least three transfer windows.

I don't think the owner feels the same. I don't think MON will be here in August

I am doubting if he will last the season.

If this continues much longer he won't.

Having had a couple of nights to sleep on it my preference would be to let Martin have a second chance; a rare thing for managers at the City Ground I know.

However, it would depend on the conversation he has with the owner. The owner will need to know what his requirements/plans are for the summer window. He bought a few in January albeit in a bit of a panic to add what was already a decent if aging squad. I think three quality replacements could bring a big improvement - a keeper, a creative midfielder, and a goalscorer. (and if there is enough change a LB).

However if MON says he needs eight or nine new players well we might as well bring in a new manager and let him rebuild; and if the owner is prepared to splash that sort of cash he might as well go back to Jocanovich and pay him what he wants.

Historically a new manager is less likely to get us promoted in his first season than one who has had time at the club, so on balance give O'Neill another six months and see how it goes.

I think it is far too early to call time on MoN. Many have bemoaned the revolving door policy at the CG so I find it a bit of a surprise to see the recent mood swing. I would back MoN to pick apart what and who isn’t working in the current squad and get things ticking again. Many managers would give their right arm to achieve the successes that MoN has had on the game at Wycombe, Fester, Celtic and Villla. You don’t suddenly forget what helped you achieve that.

My aim for the season was a top ten finish with a tilt at the play offs. Still in track to achieve that. Most said the same at the start of the season but because the top six has remained tantalisingly within Forest’s grasp, expectations have risen exponentially. Has led to the current dark mood.
