''Too many of these saltire flags in peoples' gardens''.

Then he starts counting them.

Gives a cheer when he sees a St George's at the border.

''Would be simpler if we all just flew that one''.

Daft wife nodding in agreement.

Why is it always an assumption that it`s because of a dislike of England?

For me, my thoughts on it have nothing to do with England, it`s because I believe in self governance. We can argue that the UK is we, or not, but fact is, the UK is made up of 4 countries. Westminster is decided upon by England. No other country within the UK has much influence on that, unless England is a bit undecided. I`ve always been for self determination, that`s it.

I'd like to disassociate with the far-right movement which is on the uprise more, in my opinion, in England than here.
I'm not saying it doesn't exist in Scotland, or even that we don't have problems of our own, but I do believe proportionately it's a far bigger problem on the other side of the border.
My anecdotal observation is that Scotland and England have very different philosophies when it comes to welcoming in-comers and I'd like to make that distinction stronger.

Obviously I'm not talking about everybody here. Just the people I'm talking about.

I have a rare night in ma ain bed and am now going to it.

Hadn't intended to put up such an OP.

Been doing solo walking along Hadrian's Wall since Monday.

Obvs meant I was in and out of Scot / Eng usually without even

knowing it & spoke to loads of folk.

It was an auld eejit on the Scots side who was my tilting point.

Prob about ten younger than me mindfull Scots accent.

On the Carlisle - Dumfries train what a lotta krap he came out with.

I think its inevitable now that we see a break up of the UK. Brexit really has facked everything.

But I find it weird that so many remainers appear to be advocates of independence, which seems contradictory to me.

In reality Scotland wouldn't be accepted into the EU, Spain would never allow it as it sets a precedent for Catalonia.

Heed - keen to understand why you rate Ruth Davidson as a politician.

Leaving aside the fact she's a Tory and I obviously am at odds with their political beliefs, I'm struggling to see what is so impressive about her?

Sturgeon will release a statement on the SNP plans for a 2nd Indyref post Easter.
The SNP mandate which they have to follow as all political parties are meant too has an Independent Scotland top of the list.
Like them or loathe them, they have members who rightly demand they follow their mandate.
If a YES vote was achieved, it is not definite that the first Scottish Parliament as an Independent nation would be a SNP one, that would be for the 'free' people of Scotland to decide.

What is definite is that a free Scotland would no longer be under the yolk of Westminster, Boris, May, Mogg and Gove and would no longer be associated with the rising far right in England.

Open arms policy to any person(s) of these Isles who would wish to come and live in a free Scotland who have had enough of the Eton network poisoning England and by default Scotland, NI and Wales.
