Always Chelsea. Disgusting fan element to that club which is racist to the core.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sorry, could you clarify exactly who you think is racist to the core?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Chelsea have always had a racist following. Used to be the BNP back in the 90s with a huge following. They are a rich mans Milwall.

With there "Jewish" owner money success they have attracted a more liberal fans but in the background old habits die hard.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It was 6 people. And what evidence you have that a Russian oligarch owner has attracted more liberal fans to the club?

SWTN

Agree it’s a societal problem. However both societal problems and football problems often go hand in hand.

It’s sad the club has to do anything at all on education. But what frustrates me more is a person needing the football club they support to tell them stereotyping someone by their race, religion, country they come from is unacceptable. It makes you wonder how they get on in life outside of the ground and the club.

What does it show? And about whom, the 6 perpetrators or more than that?

Terrible terrible behaviour by some mindless idiots.

But let's all be quite clear that it is only a very small minority of Chelsea fans and that whatever wumming and abuse we throw at each other we don't tar the 75% of decent Chelsea fans with the same brush..

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Finally a more considered post but 25%? Really? You think one in four of all Chelsea fans are racist?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

No not really I was just finishing with a little bit of humour

Chelsea has many racist fans, one of the worst in the league as far as i can recall although all.clubs also have this issue because society is generally racist too. My Chelsea mate and his dad said they stopped going years ago because of the racist nature of the core Chelsea faithful. His words not mine btw

My other Chelsea mate said no issues whenever he goes both are black btw

I explained this on here before on another thread, where I've grown up there is a huge amount of Chelsea fans and the sad fact is in my experience a lot of them are racist. My uncle is proper old school Chlesea and he is as racist as they come, he is bit of a caaant if i'm honest.

I will say though there are some awesome Chelsea fans about and some great posters on here too.

posted on 12/4/19

Obviously not all of them but as a club Chelsea clearly have a problem with racism.

It is the minority of fans I am sure but it seems to come a lot from them specifically.

Better have a word with your chief exec and owner then as they think your club has a problem too.

They do, but with a small % of fans.

Just as a point of comparison, there was a lot of talk after the Montenegro game about how football needs to be tough with racism (and bigotry). There was talk of how they needed to play behind closed doors, make the penalties meaningful.

Equally there was condemnation of Cagliari (rightly so) and how their fan base had racially abused players on multiple occasions. Again there was talk of playing behind closed doors.

I get slightly uncomfortable that we get moralistic when dealing with foreign examples but when it happens in the UK then it's 'just' a tiny minority and they shouldn't tar the whole fan base. I don't necessarily disagree with that but why doesn't that apply to Montenegro or Cagliari?

Just feel football (fans and administrators alike) would benefit from viewing home and away incidents equally.

Good to see the More educated and better posters on this site coming together and teaching some of the poorer posters on this site on this topic.

The song, video and fans in it are ridiculous and disgraceful. I can honestly say I’ve never seen anything like it in 400 plus games of going to chelsea, and don’t know how anyone could sit idly by if they heard or saw their own fans singing something like that.
A view i believe most chelsea fans would share with myself. Just rank stupidity and ignorance from a select few.

Good to see the better posters on here echoing each other’s sentiments. It’s a societal problem and the sooner we get rid of these type of people who go to football the better.

But a bigger percentage than most. Chelsea either have a problem with it or they don't.

Who knows if that is true? I have not seen any evidence that would substantiate that claim. Neither have I seen evidence to refute it, but it's irrelevant tbh.

What is relevant is that the club does all it can to solve the issue.

I agree with the last line. The others, not so much.

posted on 12/4/19

Well it's only relevant if you want to point score. If Chelsea for example have more racist fans than Spurs does that mean the idiot who threw a banana skin in the Arsenal game is less of a problem?

No of course not! The only relevant point here is that everyone together do what they can to eradicate this society illness. And it will take time, but it is happening at a snail pace.

see some cretins are still trying to point score on here over a serious topic. Who cares if it’s a “bigger percentage than most” how would you know that? Cos of twitter? Or the select allegations that are actually identified and reported? Do you have the exact numbers of worldwide Chelsea fans compared to other clubs and run some sort of report to see what percentage comes back as racist?

Ridiculous. Every chelsea fan on here has condemned the actions of the racist fans. Does that mean we are 100% non racist and therefore have a smaller perfentage than the ja606 equivalents on other boards?
