The article misses out the real beauty of the slip to all non-Liverpool fans and that's the speech in the preceeding game.

It was a beautiful irony. As if it were scripted.

I'd really rather not talk about it.

Fair dos.

I felt like that for a time. Now it makes me want to win this game even more. It fuels my desire to win the match.

Even I can acknowledge the irony and the fate of the incident.

I’ve often looked at football in such a light.

Many people have forgotten that. Unfortunately, the timing of the slip made the latter feel raw and I suppose, more influential.

I remember the game of 2014 quite clearly and it wasn’t a great Chelsea performance. In fact, I recall a lot of dirty tactics, time wasting etc. It all proved effective come full time but I don’t think they’d have won that game had it not been down to the infamous moment.
------------------

I think Jose was all set to as good as write the game off to focus on Leti, it was the arrogance that was being displayed pre match that fuelled our fire.

I wouldn’t call it a performance of fire. It proved effective though and that’s all that counts.

Do you think Chelsea looked like scoring prior to the slip?

Nah. Mourinho always loved stopping us and knew how to do it. Park the bus and counter. We got our tactics wrong in my opinion. We knew what Chelsea were going to do and knew we only needed a draw, we should have kept it tight and played the draw out, rather than going for it and playing into your hands. Easy to say in hindsight though.

Jose miss a chance to stick one to Liverpool? No chance.

I blame the referee sending off Hendo in the 3rd minute of added time in the 3-2 win v City

He missed the games v Chelsea and Palace because of it

Is maradonna "plagued" by his handball? I'd imagine he's quite proud of it.

Five minutes before the goal Salah fecked up a ball that would have put Schurlle through and Kalas missed from point blank, so I wouldn't say it was the biggest shock ever.

The carnival pre match atmosphere is what fired up the squad to spoil your party no matter means how, Schwarzer has admitted as much.

Unfortunately this time however, Klopp won't be as stupid as Brendan to allow such complacency to creep in.

Thb, I look back on that season and think we just gave ourselves too much to do in the second half of the season.

From January we took 48/57 points. That's a better points per game ratio than this season. We did so well to be in the fight but our early season form meant we had to be close to perfect in the second half of the season.

Having Suarez banned for the start of it didn't help.

But you won because of a slip rather than some majestic football

Bottling a comfortable lead in terms of points didn't help too

It didn't but he only missed 5 games and to be fair, our form after his return didn't improve a huge amount. Not until the turn of the year anyway.

Liverpool should win this game and, if they do, I think they'll go on to win the title as I can't see them dropping points in their last four games.

If City win it from here then it'll take a massive effort from them. What could help them, strangely, is being knocked out of the CL by Spurs.
