Lukaku and Lingard should not be regular

I think Lukaku is actually better on the right than down the middle, he's one of the very very few players in the squad who can cross.

Lingard has been dreadful since about January, should be nowhere near the team on Tuesday.

Pretty sure if Ole got his way, he'd sell Lukaku this summer

But as we all know, no club is stupid enough to pay big bucks for Lukaku

Lingard really is Mr anonymous. Games just pass him by so often

We need two quality attackers I feel. One for the right hand side and another quality back up for rotation purposes. We could do worse than Zaha & Anderson from the PL.

Last 3 domestic games alone we have struggled in.

I hate to say it, but currently with what we are offering on show - that is our level - Watfords, Wolves, West Hams etc.

Regardless of the personal we have at our disposal, we aren't producing any sort of performances that should credit what our club level should be at.

We get out what we put in.

I think the OP goes without saying.
Start at the top of the table and work your way down to where both would start for a club as CF and RW.

Firmino + Salah - No
Aguero + Sterling - No
Kane + Son/Moura - No
Higuain + Willian/Pedro/Odoi - No
Aubameyang + Mhki/Ramsey/Laca - No
Vardy + Gray - Probably not
Jiminez + Traore/Cavaleiro - Probably not
Richarlison + Walcott - Probably not
Gray + Deulofeu - No
Arnautovic + Felipe Anderson - No
Wilson + Fraser - Yes

You have to get to Bournemouth and 12th in the table to find a team with a worse pair.

Lukaku held the ball up well today and set up a few chances which our other players did nothing with

Agree about Lingard though

He spends 90 mins each match clocking up the KM to appear busy yet I've no idea how because he is almost completely impotent as an attacking threat and as effective as a chocolate teapot defensively.

His sole utility is as nuisance value to keep opposing LBs somewhat interested in ensuring he is marked.

Lukaku is the fattest shlttest footballer I've ever seen in my entire life. The cant

Lingard is the most average player since Bradley Wright Philips. He only started in the world cup because it was either him or southgate starting himself.

I am lukakus biggest critic and hope we can sell him in the summer

however today is not the day to slate him as he was the best of a bad bunch in attack

Lingard was also terrible and should neverbe played on the right again. I do not mind seeing him centrally but not a starter

If we're picking out popular whipping boys, let's acknowledge that Martial was disappointing and has probably been the most consistently disappointing forward since Ole took over.

I was thinking martial was also pretty much anonymous hardly got involved
But he somewhat redeemed himself with the run for the pen

Red Russian,

Indeed. It’s one of the reasons I think we need two quality attackers. Martial seems to have long since stopped running at players like he did in his first season.

Compare him with Zaha & Anderson who look to work their fullback all game and it’s frustrating. He has the ability but seems to really lack that drive to push on.

I also wonder if he is short of fitness. He was in and out under Mourinho and I think our style over previous years means we’re not the fittest side in the league. Ole himself has alluded to it.

Lingard doesn’t get a pass just because he moves about a bit. He gets the ball because he finds space and makes great runs. He’s just not a top quality player. Put his brain in Rashford and you’d have.... Mbappe.

Lambeau,

I’d say if you put Lingard’s movement in Martial you’d have something similar to Mbappe.

Even Bournemouth is debatable tbh, at least Wilson and Fraser can run in behind and commit defenders, even then Fraser plays LW, it’s the talented David Brooks who plays RW for them and he’d get into our team IMO.

For me, you have to go one place further down to Palace in 13th...

I’ll admit, I wasn’t being entirely serious.

I do think Lukaku and Lingard are good enough to make the first team squad but no as regular starters, we can certainly improve our CF options and we’ve been saying for years about the need for a quality right-winger.

I’d much rather keep lukaku over Lingard. I still find it unbelievable that people actually rate this lad.
Yeah he runs a lot and picks up space. Great except when you give him the ball in space it inevitably leads to feck all
