I'm supposed to be meeting Griff and his clan at the Dragon (W'spoons) on Hurst St. for breakfast:

They never quite chill the Chablis to my liking at Wetherspoons Scouse, and this despite my many efforts to educate them. I’m guessing you favour the two quid a pop pigswill they serve up.
Châteauneuf-du-Pap for me vidal
Goes nicely with my egg butties.
If you like, and if you can get the name right, I could have a chat with my friend Baron Leroy and get you a few cases of his special reserve, Scouse. He owes me a few favours.
Thanks vidal, but as per the stereotype, a crate of Stella would do nicely thanks.
I have few contacts in the fizzy pop industry I’m afraid Scouse.
The Shakespeare or Bacchus bar ar both about 100 yards from the Victoria Square exit of New Street. You won't get bother in either. Best plan is to Walk to Moor St or Snow Hill (Equidistant) and get off at Bordesley Green. Pain in the bottom walk up a lengthy hill though. I'd get a cab from New St. Ground is at least 2 miles away. Try the Crown on Stratford Rd, Digbeth. Oldest pub in Birmingham. Yes, I am familiar with the area and I will be there. Try the Head of Steam, Temple Row, about a 3 min walk from New St. Good pub. The Wellington or Joint Stock for the real ale people. Hotel Du Vin for a bit of class or anywhere in the Mailbox.

Cheers for the intel AJ

I’m planning on going in the old crown. Went in there when we played away at Brum a few years ago on Boxing Day. I remember it being next to the custard factory
That's the one. Very old looking black and white painted wood. Looks out of place. There are blues fans in there, but they're fine. Any nearer to the ground than that, forget it.
Fooking ell, I thought I was going to a match on Friday not a pub crawl!
Hic!

I have heard of a stonewall penalty. Not a stone certain penalty.
Listen, because I don't agree with you about King Keogh and pretty boy Lawrence, doesn't mean I got out the bed the wrong side. One decent pass he made on Saturday and people on here think he's a world beater. He consistently turns in below average performances.
Ask yourself this, if we make the Premier League, (which we won't yet again this season) would you want Keogh as one of your key players. I think the answer is quite clearly no. Be interesting, or not, to anylise all the blocks and tackles you mention. I must go to Pride Park blindfolded.
Anyway, at least I've added another dozen comments to your otherwise dull and oh so nice article.
By the way, renewed my season ticket for the 35th time earlier this month, so don't dismiss my opinion as if I'm some sort of casual observer.

AJ, I've renewed mine too if that is of importance. And my first was in 1970.
But I have never seen so many misconceptions in one post before this one. I definitely took pains to see that I did not dismiss your right to your opinions. But they do seem to be at odds with most others. Frank likes him and so do many other managers.
1. So what was it about stone certain that you didn't understand?
2. I had already said you were entitled to your opinions. And they were interesting though I didn't share them.
3. The reason I thought you got out of bed wrongly was the refusal to accept a different description of a stonewall penalty. Pedanticism equates to getting out of bed the wrong way.
4. Whether Keogh would make a good PL defender is purely hypothetical. Nowhere did I even consider such a proposition in my article let alone suggest it. I don't see how you could deduce my negative answer. It was never a question for me!
5. It was not clear in your comments whether it was Lawrence or Keogh who made just the one decent pass? So it is hard to agree or disagree with you on that one. But you are entitled to hold whatever view it was that you had. But never mind and just enjoy another year of Championship football. (unless we scrape the play-offs and then anything could happen).
You have to sink a few pints and some jäger bombs to get thro an away game
