So what you're telling me is that the players are publically backing the guy who is currently selecting them to play?

OH MY GOD, WHAT A SHOCK THIS IS

Interviewer: Hi *name of current player*, do you think the guy who selects the team should keep selecting the team?

Current player: No, he's pash and doesn't know what he's doing. I hope we get a better coach than him in.

He'd be spending the next few weeks in the stands ffs

Yesterday was our best performance all season.

He is definitely starting to implement his brand of football.

The brand of football that saw Hibs climb to 8th in the league?

You should go for the new Hibs manager. He's got Hibs in the top six and challenging for Europe. It sounds like he's a better manager than Lennon, that's for sure.

Lennons celtic managerial achievements...

3 League trophies (lost only twice in one season)
2 Scottish Cups
2 CL qualification (1 of those in the last 16)

Would much rather have a proven manager in lennon than some rookie in gerrard that is only there to sell season tickets.

Has he ever got a poor Hibs side into the top six?

The new guy has.

Lennon couldn't.

The new guy (whose name I clearly can't remember) hasn't even had to sign his own players to do so.

New guy > Lennon

Listen, he's come in at a moments notice to try and get us over the line.

He's had 7 wins and 2 draws i believe, not the worst. Yesterday was by far and away the best performance.

He's still not the man to take us forward but we could do worse than him as well.

Didn't they finish 4th last year?

My apologies sir.

I'll leave right away.

I would very much like Lennon to get the job.

IMO opinion he is a significant downgrade on Brendan Rodgers.

Which is a plus for Rangers. Simple as that.

Although obviously regressing a team from European qualifiers to bottom six is something seen as a positive for a Celtic manager.

Interesting concept as you try for 9 and 10 in a row. I mean, not everyone would go for a guy who is capable of making a team much, much worse than they were the previous year.

It is a serious point Ivan is making in a slightly mischevious way.

Lennon had Hibs down at eighth, he had several public fall outs with players and left the club after being suspended.

Lennon is a half decent manager. No more. He is also a major hot head though.

Brendan was bigheadedbawbag that constantly spouted utter pash. But he was a good couple of classes above Lenny as manager.

I’m sure you’ll be able to give us a fairly lengthy list of Dundee Utd managers that have achieved this though...

Lennon's record as Celtic manager both domestically and in Europe is better than Rodgers going by the win percentages etc.

But that doesn't tell the whole story.

Rodgers is a better manager imo but Lennon isn't a bad one either, he has some very good traits and some very bad ones.

Personally i'd like us try and go with someone of a higher calibre but should it be Lennon and he gets money to spend then i think we'll be alright for the next 2 years in terms of the league.

As NNH said Lennon came in on short notice to steady the ship after Roland Rat left

I've said many times I don't want him long term. He has done a great job in the past and in this interim spell and for this I understand why some want him.

Yesterday summed up how split the support are - someone started a round of singing "Only one Neil Lennon" - some joined in belting it out, some halfheartedly murmured it and others looked around awkwardly

I agree totally NNH.

Lennon is a decent enough mid table SPL manager.

I would say Steve Clarke has been more impressive as a coach over the piece than Lennon.

At the end of the day Lennon is a clear downgrade from Brendan Rodgers. That can only benefit Rangers.

Celtic have the money to appoint someone of Brendans calibre so there is no real excuse for taking the risk appointing Lennon.
