They are okay players atm.

Don’t particularly like Sanchez much but mainly because I prefer a ball playing CB which he certainly isn’t.

Foyth I have huge hopes for. Ones he hits 23/24 he should be very good.

I think that is a tad unfair, I think he is pretty good with the ball at his feet.

Walker-peters needs to go out on Loan next season, not sure he will make it at Spurs, Foyth is interesting in that he likes to get forward, maybe Poch could transform him, fullback or defensive midfield, Sanchez scares me

Given how terrible Trippier and Aurier have been, it speaks volumes that Walker-Peters can't get a game.

Foyth has the world at his feet. Bit of meat on his bones and he'll be top class.

Sanchez is limited technically but with a bit more nous and nastiness he could become a really good physical no-nonsense centre half. I could see him and Foyth forming a heck of a partnership if they continue developing for a few years.

I thought KWP played well against City.
Better than Trippier anyways.
Sanchez is okay if he has Verts and Toby beside him.
And .... Rose is back!

I think Foyth is going to be a star.

All 3 will be very good squad players next season. None are top 4 quality defenders at present.

Foyth will be a better player for us than Sanchez he could probably play defensive midfield, he’s so composed on the ball.

Sanchez has great pace and strength but don’t think he’s improved this season

Walker peters I can see getting more game time this season as I expect aurier to be sold

Sanchez has shown great potential as a no nonsense centre half, but he has tread water this season, I`ve not seen much improvement, he has been in and out of the team however. He could do with improving his passing and cutting out the silly errors, hopefully this will come in time. At the moment though, he is not looking like £40m worth.

Foyth I like the look of, he`s still raw and needs to fill out a bit, but I like his ability on the ball, he could even make a good DM in time.

Don’t kid yourself Sandy. If we let Toby go and rely on Sanchez/Foyth rather than replacing him, we will have regressed hugely. Toby is a level above these guys. Sanchez is strong and fast, mediocre on the ball and error prone. Foyth is a better footballer, but is a risk taker and lacks physicality. They both have scope to improve, but they aren’t ready to fill Toby’s boot yet.

KWP is a decent little player, always seems to do well when he plays but it’s usually against weak opposition when we’re rotating. If he’s not gonna start more regularly he should go out on loan. Personally I’d fack Trippier and Aurier off, go all outback for AWB and have him and KWP competing for that spot.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Toby is a good player Ace, yes we all know that, but was he really any better than both Foyth and Sanchez at their equivalent ages, I doubt it. Like most defenders they tend to get better with age and experience.

How long do you want to wait to win something, Sandy??
I want a legitimate Toby replacement next season, ....not three seasons down the road...
I might not be around then

Sandy, im sorry but the reason we signed Toby is because of his peak ability. We probably wouldnt have signed him when he was 19 or 21 and we didnt anyway..not like you would know if he was better than them at their age anyway! Foyth and Sanchez are progressing, but its about the ability now to make your side better.

VVD is now the best CB in the league and possibly winning the title with the best defence in the league, he was unknown at 21 years old.

Names please Ted, and price. No good just saying Spurs need a replacement without telling us all who it will be.

You have made the point for me. VVD was unknown as a 21 year old, and has progressed. So why would not Sanchez and Foyth also progress, they are playing at the top end of the Prem, and involved the latter stages of the CL now, more than VVD ever was at their ages.

ted makes a good point though, like i said we need a player good enough now. Whats the point in hoping these guys will be stars in the future? By which time they might not even still be at spurs.

spurs have Dier, Foyth, Sanchez as options for the RCB spot. Its if/when Vertonghen is out we are very weak in defence, we should be looking at LCB as a successor if we are signing a CB imo.

In Ted's world though Spurs just go out and sign a replacement for Toby, and we all know quality players are not just there to pick up randomly when you want them. There are simply not enough good enough players to go around all the clubs that want a decent CB.

on a side note Troy Parrot up from u18s to u23s scores another 2 goals last night one a free kick, time to get a sight of him in 1st team squad

Toby is gone as the club will be looking to sell to buy where possible, the Toby money will probably go towards signing Andersen.

Wouldn’t be surprised if we saw Verts leave as well with only a year left on his contract.

Well, Levy is supposed to have scouts whose job it is to uncover (or discover) suitable replacement players.
So far, we seen Sissoko, Aurier and Sanchez bought in past 3 seasons.
But if I were to go looking for an Alderweireld replacement, I'd look at the current Ajax squad.
We might even get to see them if we beat City!!

posted on 17/4/19

and, of course Lucas Moura!
Here's my take on Levy's recent trips into the market.
1. Sissoko .... has regained form and is worth every penny.
2. Aurier .... a gun-toting idiot and a Levy el Cheapo; PSG wanted rid of him. Not worth the bother.
3. Sanchez ..... broke Levy's piggy bank; is a work in progress.
4. Lucas Moura ... not needed where he was, a good buy, and certainly most needed here at Tottenham.
