Dreadful. Causes unknown atm. Hope everyone's okay and that the causes are accidental.
Isn’t it being refurbished as well?
It's next to the Seine, can't believe there are no fire fighters there.

It's like the time it took to get the paramedics to Diana. What's with that city?

It is quite hard to get to. It’s bounded by the Seine on one side and streets around it are really small. It’s usually quite busy as well.
A terrible shame. There was a great flea market next to it. I last visited the cathedral in 1998.
Looking on Channel 4 news the whole place is going to be destroyed
A few of us were there a while back.
Our meet up place was a Brazillian type bar directly opposite the front door.
It's been damaged before, but not seemingly to the extent it has now.
Absolute shame.
Rose windows are one of the highlights of that building, doesn't look good.
The hotel we stayed in on honeymoon is the road just up from there in the Latin Quarter. Inadvertently found out it was the hotel Jim Morrison stayed in for 3 months when he moved there.
Any news on the hunchback??
Feck, genuinely hurts my soul, the centre spire has collapsed, it's facked

Why couldn't it be some crappy new building
So horrible to watch the massive fire at Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. Perhaps flying water tankers could be used to put it out. Must act quickly!

i just hope the hunchback (Neo) got out Ok
This incident would be like St Paul's burning down for us, if that had happened then I’d expect the government to hand its p45’s in.

Haha, had an idea he might appear
They will rebuild it.
It's been left to ruin before today, used as a warehouse, and bombed by the Luftwafa, so as sad as these images are, and as bigger job as it is, it will rise again I'm sure.
As for the 13th century Rose windows, they are a huge loss to the city, if blown out.

Could turn it into something useful like a theme pub, all the bar staff dressed as Quasimodo, make a killing with the tourists

It’s a shame ‘building trade’ Loz got banned. We would’ve had a quote by now

Someone on C4 just said something similar.
There's dozens of bridges on the Seine, planes can't just swoop down and collect water like they can do on the sea.
