Spurs fans, would you take Arsenal finishing 3rd and us finishing 4th now if offered?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We really need 3rd, there's a chance 4th can miss out.

Spurs aren't very good either. It's quite simple.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Well you don`t finish top three, three years in a row, and still in 3rd place and the QFinals of the CL if you are not very good. Not sure football discussion is your forte mate.

Honestly how are they so close to us in the league?

Its simple really. Spurs have been underperforming and got lucky to got a point against us. Spurs shouldnt even end up ahead of us.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Spurs should be a countrymile clear of Arsenal, better team, CL team, bigger ground, everything about Spurs is better than Arsenal these days.

That they are not is nothing to do with Arsenal, but all to do how they only managed to pick up 1 point from 15 a month back.

I expect Arsenal to come back down to earth on Thursday, I fancy Napoli to win 4-0 or something like that. Arsenal`s luck cannot last forever.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This doesnt make sense, if you are the better team you should be well clear now, but you are not. You are just 1 point better than Arsenal. There is no two ways about it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Football doesn`t work like that. Plenty of teams that are not overall better have won trophies. Would you for example have said Wigan were better than City when they beat them in the FA Cup Final, would you say Leicester were really a better team than three or four others when they won the title.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes and yes because they were better than all the other teams, they won it, more Leicester's because winning the league title is not luck.

Well you've dismissed Arsenal as a poor side despite them being only a point behind you, so you can't be very good then.
I like how you've changed your tune completely again after a couple of wins, a couple of weeks ago you were writing top 4 off ffs.

Because spurs aren't as good as you think they are, most likely.

Still better than Arsenal as it stands.

Enjoy your Thursday nights.

see where youre coming from OP but Spurs have not been pulling up many trees this season either. Despite outplaying most teams unlike arsenal, it is the points that matter. we got 1 from 15 or something which is awful, while arsenal played a lot of home games and impressed putting together a run of wins.

Spurs have a better side but have been unlucky this season how injuries have come about and several interruptions to not be able to gain any kind of consistency (worth noting Arsenal had very few players at the WC compared to Spurs). The home games we have to play could have saved us and get us a CL place for next season.

For sure though if Arsenal finish top 4, fair play to their players and their manager has done brilliantly, they would have done it with a squad that is not top 4 quality.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

"Despite outplaying most teams"? I thought you were the jammiest, flukiest team in the league up until your recent run of bad form. Right from your first win of the season against Newcastle until Winks scored a last kick winner against some team (West Ham?) earlier this year, you had a whole lot of jammy wins, with your only run of really good form coming around the time you thrashed Everton. You were not "outplaying" anything anymore than Arsenal were doing.
You're also not the only team that have had injuries. The injuries to Holding, Bellerin and even Welbeck has cost us badly this season, particularly considering our lack of replacements, and during the period of our worst form late last year and early this year, we could barely field any defenders and were playing the likes of Xhaka, Elneny and Monreal at CB and getting killed.

Mate, scoring winners in the allocated amount of time in a game isn't jammy, even if the winner is in the last minute. If anything, it's testament to a teams character. (The Winks winner was at Craven Cottage BTW).

Yes many of our wins have been lucky for other reasons, but you're probably forgetting of the ten PL losses we've had this season, a fair share of those were unlucky against us, most notably at Anfield a few weeks ago.

Jammiest flukiest wins

Fulham 3-1
Man United 3-0
Chelsea 3-1
Leicester 2-0
Southampton 3-1
Everton 6-2
Bournemouth 5-0
Cardiff 3-0
Leicester again 3-1
Palace 2-0
Huddersfield 4-0

All wins by two goals or more

Even a lot of the narrow victories Spurs were overwhelmingly the better side.

Of the defeats Spurs should never have lost to Watford, Wolves, Man United, Burnley, Southampton and Liverpool away, where they were clearly the better side in all of those games.

Sheriff you have had a bit of a mare on this one.

Its ridiculous that (most) you Spurs lot have some crazy delusion that you basically play like man c and Barca combined, but don't win trophies and we should all be praising u for not really being much better than us but when you lose, its unlucky or unfair etc cos u are 'the better team'.
