You have no idea what any of that means, do you?

8K resolution
AMD Ryzen-processor
Radeon Navi-GPU
SSD

And a footballer, who's probably never heard of Hitler, controlling it.

No, as a photographer and IT service delivery manager who also built his own PC and owns a PS4, I have no clue.

8K? can't see that happening. 4k most likely. all sorts of rumours going around, who knows whats true?

We might get something concrete this year, but in my mind it is being set up for a 2020 release.

Straight from the horse's mouth

you couldn't have put that in the article.

It does make interesting reading, so thanks for that

I still say we are looking at 4k graphics for most games next gen, 8K might be possible with some compromises, because of that most games will be 4k.

Interesting about the SSD, could be a real game changer, and nice to know backward compatability seems to be confirmed for PSVR too.

I still take all this with a pinch of salt until it is officially announced, but it does appear to put some meat on the PS5 bones, we will see.

8k is for about 3/5 years time mainstream

I wouldn't mind the possibility of VR in 8k, been reading some interesting things that Sony are up to, that might make it possible

AMD seem to be confirming some specs.

What use is 8k when most of the country don't even have 4k TV's yet?

posted on 16/4/19

8k is coming, but PSVR2 with an 8k oled screen would be a huge step forward for VR.

Most that do, it's utterly pointless as well as they sit too far away from the screen anyway.

Ssd, as amiga said, is the really interesting bit in all of that.

I put an SSD in my PC and the increase in load speed was incredible.

Specs are one thing, getting the most out of them is another. Part of the problem with PC's is there are just too many variations, meaning programming will have to take into account lower specs. it is a nightmare for programmers, which is why teams like Naughty Dog are able to program and get the most out of the hardware available.

Personally i think we're almost at the end of the traditional game console. There's only so much resolution you can squeeze in or make the game speed that much faster. Specs of the PS5 seem (to me) a bit of a money making fad.

VR is the way forwards, but not for some time yet.

Yeah sorry, I got it from a Dutch news site and then posted the important bits here. Had to find the English article.

PS5 could very well be the last we will see of conventional console gaming, game streaming like the recently announced Google Stadia, will probably be the way gaming is heading.

My point about specs stand, a more powerful computer, does not mean better games necessarily.

As for VR, I agree it's future is going to be a huge step forward for gaming. I can't wait to see what Sony and others have in store.

this, the amount of people I know that have 50-55inch 4k tvs but sit at the opposite end of their room to watch it, if your sitting more than 10feet away from your tv you'll need a 65+inch 4k tv to actually notice the difference in picture
