England's squad looks about the best it can be. Denly being picked as a back up spinner to bat at 7/8 was ridiculous. Dawson is a dependable player to be called upon if Moeen or Rashid miss a game.

Willey being dropped seems harsh but think we've got the right quintet of seam bowlers. Willey offers swing and left arm variation and is capable of big hitting but unfortunately the other 5 are all half decent batsmen and/or capable of late lusty blows down the order.

Yeah, it looks to me like England got the picks right. Archer was always going to be in. It seems to me that left any two from Plunkett, Curran and Willey. It was a tough call, it's tough on Willey, but I think they got it correct.

Similarly it looked like Denly was always going to be left out. Dawson is better cover for the spinners and can bat a bit as well.

No pressure on Archer. The way the media have hyped him up is like they have produced Curtly Ambrose.

Afghanistan to be the surprised semifinalist in this world cup.

Virat Kohli says Jofra Archer has the “x-factor” and “no wonder England fast tracked him into the side”

Pakistan players have all a-z factors, and world cup is coming to Pakistan for 2nd time. Its a big anomaly that we have superior record against India in ODI & Test cricket yet they have won world cup more than once.

Aus and Nzl have build their case for World Cup. Majority of experts say England are the favourites but my favourites are Aus. Smitha nd Warner are back and their bowling attack is best in this format.

Based on warm ups, think Aus and Eng look the stand out team to me. Have so much depth in squad. India in my honest opinion look far weaker than most teams. We lack depth in the squad, and for once our batting looks like it will play a big part in making sure we fail to reach the play offs. Also for once think Pak have a decent chance to go all the way. Their batting looks very solid and if the bowling does as well as previous tournaments then this will be full of surprises.

Can’t wait for the World Cup to start and to be proven wrong about India. Let’s go 🇮🇳.

Pak agree with you. In fact think Aus with a wounded smith and warner will be a team rearing to go and prove people wrong. Also the bowling without starc and Cummins looks so good, it only makes me wonder how it will do once this 2 have been added in.

This wc will most entertaining among recent ones because
1) Format. No useless games such as Australia vs Nambia, it s all one to one which means every important to win
2) It will be batting bonanza unlike last world cup held here where bowlers dominated and batsmen were generally in defensive mode in first 15 overs.

Yeah agreed Pak. Also teams can’t take each other lightly. As everyone has to play each other and frankly speaking apart from SL think most of the other teams have the capability of winning on their day ( even Afghanistan are capable of springing surprises and winning matches). There is basically no free wins here. Teams will have to earn their spots.

Agree with you guys. The format is a huge plus - means every game matters. Absolute no dead-rubbers.

But the weather will play apart somewhere along the line... all it takes is for a team or two to be rained off a couple of games and they are at sudden death stage...

Rain has been decisive before as well, Pakistan vs England game in 92 washed out & semis of 92 WC

Just a shame there are hardly any day night games.

They're warming up nicely, going to hit us for 400

Think we will lose to West Indies on Friday

Its invariably favours sides batting first in day night games as bowlers under lights get prodiguous swing.
Folks, this is historic day as Pakistan conducted nuclear tests successfully in response to India's nuclear test.

Think we’ve seen in these warm up games already how pretty much any result is possible between the big 8 teams.

Australia beaten the favourites England the other day.

NZ thrash India the other day only to be thrashed themselves today by the West Indies.

Interesting World Cup ahead.

Morning Lads

Looking forward to today's game.

The media and pundits have been waxing lyrical about England, and them being nailed on favorites to lift the world cup, and going by form, especially at home, they are all correct.

Personally I don't see them winning it.
