Did they really play crowd noise?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No, they didn't

They played songs prior to the match to gee up the crowd, much in the same way Liverpool play their song prior to every game.

They definitely did not play crowd noise through the speakers during the match.

I don’t have a twitter account

I was at the game. It didn't happen.

Asks me to login

I have seen one on YouTube

Wasn't filmed during the game

I was there. I sit right under a speaker. At no time was crowd noise played through the PA system.

If there were, I would call it out.

I thought VAR worked as it should do last night
Wasn’t handball and was offside so correct decisions reached no matter how disappointing, pity we didn’t have VAR in place v Liverpool last season

I thought we lost the tie by being too conservative in the first leg, away goals are so important in this competition
Great game last night

Good post and agree had VAR been in last season and that goal you got just before half time in the second leg had stood god knows what would have happened.

How do you think city will react at the weekend?

I think spurs could be pretty flat as they put so much energy into last night but so did city, weird one to call really but I guess it’s all about the league now so the players know five wins and it’s done.

Spurs can barely put out a side of first team players, City will take revenge.

I hope they do for obvious reasons

But I'm your garden variety 'typical City' kind of supporter so I expect the worst

Last night was meat and drink for the old school Blues.

Can't see City bottling it twice in a week tbh

City followers narrative that they only went out last season because of no VAR is hilarious.

they were battered.

They didn't bottle it, they won on the night and just went out to a good team, this notion that if you don't win you have bottled it is comeplete nonsense.

Had the goal just before half time in the second leg stood (which VAR would have ruled a goal) then the tie is completley different

posted on 18/4/19

From another thread thanks to TOOR, the goal they scored in the second leg would have been ruled out by VAR.

Battered

All ifs and buts

The decision that really killed City was the incorrectly disallowed goal in the second leg.

City were all over Liverpool in that first half but that decision was a blow. Who knows what would have transpired had it counted but it didn't, so that's that.

That said had VAR been in place your first at Anfield would not have counted, which completely changes the complexion of the tie and possibly the outcome.

You would have been battered at Anfield no matter what.. that day, there was literally no fear from the Liverpool players, while Man City were still in awe of the coach welcome.

Beaten before you got on the pitch.

posted on 18/4/19

Attacking the coach definately had an effect.

You applaud such actions which is why most neutrals in this country don't want you to win the league or anything else.

You have literally no way of knowing what the outcome would have been had the score correctly remained 0-0. Much less the means to justify saying City would have been battered anyway.

You simply have no way of knowing how that tie would have unfolded from that point.

It's all speculation.

Regardless, Liverpool went through and that's that.

Went through and were totally humiliated in the final.

Not really mate, it's actually OK to say the odd negative thong about Liverpool, or admit that we did get some luck in them ties.

I really fail to understand why some folk on the internet just can't be honest
