It definitely needs to be sped up either way, all the standing about waiting on the VAR and taking too long to make a decision is taking something away from the 'moment' in my opinion.

The offside in the City v Spurs game was a good call and it's fine when it's as clear cut as that. The problem is when it comes down to interpretation, watching it back again in slow motion removes the context of something like a handball or a red card.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This argument is always blown out of proportion, yes the slowing down of a game is a pain, waiting around etc but how often does it occur each game? Once a game on a tight/close call if that? a small price to pay if its the correct decision and the result of it all is worth hundreds of millions or a trophy etc.

Even as it stands now which is early doors its better, and theres still room for improvement.

VAR at the end of it all is just a tool to help referees, and if used competently it will do that very well. Problem is, as seen in the cups the referees in our league are anything but competent at their job and even with the help of technology they have still facked it up on more than one occasion which is probably the main reason it wasn't voted in for this season.

Our refs will be sheitting themselves over VAR lets be honest, they will no doubt deep down know as good as a tool it can be for them it will just as easily highlight even more so, how clueless they are when it comes to interpreting and implementing the laws/rules they are employed to apply.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I disagree actually - in the FA Cup I think it's shown our referees seem to have a good deal more common sense than their European counterparts.

This year they've not been so bad from what i've seen tbf but last year it was a joke at times.

Not gonna lie. I did take a perverse pleasure out of seeing Sterling and Pep celebrating only for the goal to be chalked off

Feel bad for Pep, Sterling can get facked though. No doubt he will find a way to accuse VAR of being racist.

🤣

I've always wanted VAR. Not embracing the available technology to assist referees to get the right decision has to be sensible. I've never understood the arguments for those who are so vehemently against it.

Var is brilliant. Finally a level playing field without bias or human error.

Against Real Madrid Nani was deservedly sent off, for high feet/dangerous play , I think var would still have ended up with us with 10 men.

That's one interpretation of what happened - it certainly isn't mine.

That decision was shambolic in my view.

I agree with Winston. That was never a red, imho.
