Never saw that coming at 1.15pm (half time at Bramhall Lane).

Very fooking disappointing.

We struggle when teams sit off as much as that, just aimless balls into the box. That 2nd half was crying out for Edmondson to get himself about in the box. Really think he could have made a difference today.

Does anyone actually think we can beat Brentford?

As terrible as it seems, worst case scenario is we still will have a shot in the playoffs....we need to believe it’s gonna be our year 👍😀👍

Yes I think we can beat Brentford

You're joking, they'll rip us to pieces

posted on 19/4/19

Saiz, you have constantly predicted we will mess up. If you predict enough, eventually you will be right. This is the first time though.

You said we wouldn't make play offs. We did that 3 games ago.

Even a broken clock is right twice a day.

You are about as much use as a broken clock.

Even if Brentford rip us to pieces, we still might be in with a shot of second....who knows?

Whatever happens now, we need help from Sheff U’s opponents.....so realistically Hull and Stoke need to do us a favour, which I think is entirely possible

Of course it's entirely possible, but are we good enough to take advantage? Some posters were saying we could be six points clear after Monday. We could also be four points adrift, which is as good as five with the goal difference.

I normally don't buy into this 'bottling it' stuff. I think it's usually a lazy analysis that's given whenever teams lose these days. But that's the only way to describe today.

1 nil up against 10 men after 20 minutes. Team that is struggling at the bottom of the league and has won once away from home. You just cannot lose it from there. Only person who can say they made a positive impact on the game is Bamford and even then he showed his fragile character by not wanting to take that penalty. You want your striker taking penalties unless you have a specialist in the team, but Pablo is far from a reliable penalty taker. Striker should be grabbing that.

Final ball today was awful. As for set pieces, I can't be the only one who just isn't bothered when we get one. Terrible delivery whoever takes it. I think the last set piece goal was the consolation against Norwich in February.

First time I've really though Bielsa made the wrong decision. Subs were poor, Roberts gets on the ball but Roofe just doesn't. What is Forshaw for Phillips going to do. And it was just too early, it was 1-1, I think making two subs amps up the pressure and urgency more than was necessary.

Faith, we're not good enough, can't you see that!

Thoughts from today..

1) We lacked ANY composure. Why is Bamford not taking the penalty?

2) After going 1-0 up we rushed everything!

3) Bamford first touch (other than the goal) was League 2 standard.

4) Defensive panic against 10 men!?!?!?

5) Alioski and Harrison were so poor, Clarke should have come on for Harrison.

6) Klich (on a yellow) should have gone off instead of Phillips

7) When chasing a game why does Pablo need to be the quarterback? (See taking Phillips off). Pablo is best in the final third.

8) Not a commanding CB display from Pontus.

9) Ayling was very average but was probably our best player.

10) Why isn’t Roofe starting? If we aren’t playing Roofe up top he shouldn’t be on the pitch.

11) Roberts looked to be the only person today who could beat a man (so we take him off)

Overall a horrible day for the club team/manager need to have a look at themselves after that.

1-0 up at home, against 10 men for 75 minutes. Very very very poor.

At this point in season it’s about momentum and we don’t have any.

As I’ve saud before I cannot see us going up through playoffs, we can’t raise ourselves for one big game key enough 2 semi finals and then potential big occasion at Wembley.

Just feel very deflated after that.

Bielsa taking responsibility and rightly so. Coaches need to develop better crossing ability and choices from Alioski and Harrison and if they can’t then look at other players, which of course ultimately goes B’s k to our transfer policy.

The simple most frustrating thing is that we have seen what we’re capabld of, everyone’s expecting it but we simply can’t deliver it consistently.

posted on 19/4/19

That's why the club went after Daniel James. They knew that the left flank was a weakness.

I actually think Bielsa has done very well to get this much out of Alioski and Harrison so far. Just not good enough consistently and there's not much you can do to improve a player who just cannot cross.

Best it wasn’t supposed to be criticism of Bielsa, the issue really lies with the calibre of recruitment.

It was tough listening to commentators raving about us and then slowly having to change tune.

Not over yet but that January window was a shocker.
Again lacking anyone capable of beating a man and the lack pace was evident all over the pitch,

Never been sold on Casilla. Makes mistakes every game and was woeful for the first goal. Goes to ground too quickly. Very average keeper

I agree on Casilla, never quite convinced by him when he comes out if goal and the shot that hit bar have no idea what he was doing.

But ultimately it’s the other end of pitch where our problems really lie.

posted on 19/4/19

Casilla has been an improvement on BPF. But he's ridden his luck a few times running out off his line.

The worst thing is, I’m not even that deflated by this, it’s just I’m not surprised at all, what this ream does to us....

posted on 19/4/19

I'm somewhat bemused by Harrison and Alioski being picked out. There was not one player on the pitch that played anywhere near the standard we have seen them deliver.

This was the whole team failing, you can't pick out just those two. Every player was woeful - and the one player with their head seemingly on was taken off at half time

posted on 19/4/19

Missed penalty,
inability to convert good chances into goals,
predictable attacking strategy,
pointless high crosses, when we get dominated in the air just about every game,
strange choice of players to substitute at half time - Alioski and Harrison/Klich should have been the ones taken off.

How did you get on lads?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Anyone????
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not well, as I'm sure you are well aware. I'll make sure to ask you after the CL semi and when Man City win the PL.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No, been sat in a beer garden all afternoon.

Bit poor you wanting the mancs to win though.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You obviously have no idea on Leeds fans preferences. We'd always want you know who to lose but City? Not the same deal. And tbh they're nowhere near as painful as you lot when you win something. Why not head back to your own board rather than stop winding us up eh? there's a good chap. What goes around comes around.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Didn’t know you owned the board mate, something to get used to if you come up.

The only way to put it is. Wigan wanted to stay up more than Leeds wanted promotion. Today was all about mental strength to push you on, and sadly Leeds players showed a weakness.....Maybe that's the "soft underbelly" Warnock was describing.

Perhaps he should focus on his own problems in Wales, eh?

Having watched the matches back again, Berardi hood balm out leads to their first goal and then Alioski completely out of position v massey.

Second goal defence all at sea.

Then watching Sheff U you see the impact of a good left back - Stevens.

We’ve got a makeshift left back after Douglas our but when Douglas was fit he never delivered the impact Stevens has.

Then seeing Norwich scoring free kicks and you’re left Turing all the free kicks we get that we get nothing from, again, maybe we should have expected more from Douglas when he was fit but also Hernández, Alioski, we should be getting more on target and more goals.

All this goes back to quality of players brought in.

The fact is we’ve overachieved, it just rankles as we’re so close.
