Told you Brighton are really negative. Took it to a different level today, but that is how they play.

Today also shows the reason we will not finish 7th. We don’t move the ball quick enough against teams that pack out the defence and Nuno always waits too long before trying something different like bringing on Adama to take players on. Guarantee Watford would have won that game today which is where the difference is.

We might take points off the big teams but it is of little significance when you can’t beat the dross. We are like the Robin Hood of football clubs. Take points from the rich and give them to the poor.

I think with 14 corners we must be close to the record for the most corners taken by 1 team in a prem game. I have no idea where to find out though.

Not sure about a Premiership game Gem, but in 1965 Leicester had 34 corners in their 0-5 loss to man Utd.

Terrible game to watch, with Brighton unashamedly negative. We have to criticise Wolves for struggling to break these teams down but it really isn’t easy when 9 men are packed in defence. We hit the post, hit the bar, two kicked off the line, but on the day it wasn’t going to happen. Maybe Traoré could have come on earlier but even when him and Vinagre got to the byeline they were having to cross into an area where we were always outnumbered. But we have to find a way and that maybe Nuno’s biggest challenge of the summer to find the players to breakthrough the parked bus. Because as Wolves improve, more and more teams will play this way against us.

That game at Watford next Saturday may well decide who finishes 7th. Before that a home game against Arsenal on Wednesday that will surely be a much better spectacle than today

Do you mean the one when I'm replying to a respected poster on here? Something tells me, you're actually a poster from the past who has come back on, under a different 'handle'.

I meant the one where you stated a team had 34 corners and lost 5-0. Complete nonsense.

Apparently Wolves went the entire game without committing a foul. That can't happen very often...

posted on 20/4/19

must be where we are going wrong not fouling enough

And so it goes on:

Huddersfield 6 points
Brighton 4 points
Cardiff 3 points
Southampton 3 points
Burnley 3 points
Fulham 1 point so far

These have taken the edge off what has been a great season. Big lessons to learn.

In hindsight Vinagre should have started, should have been Traore for perhaps Bennett, could have even taken Patricio off and still got a point.

Add to this list Palace and Burnley and we have dropped a total of 23 points against the bottom seven clubs, with 16 of those points away from home.

With half of that , 8 points we would have finished in
7th place already.
This has to be addressed for next season or we may struggle.

Looked at another way we now have 2 wins and 10 points from our last 9 league games. If that level of form were replicated over the season we would now be 16th in the league

Yesterday the south bank were singing "boring boring" throughout.

What was boring was watching our pathetic attempts to breakdown a well organised defence. Story of our season there.

We still have a game in hand over Everton and Leicester. All we have to do is beat Arsenal on Wednesday and things all change again.
