I can just imagine all the FB Forest groups now. Martin is our king...blah..blah.
He should've played Carvalho all along, then we'd be in the play-off hunt...it's only Boro though. They are awful.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Borough are awful, yesterday doesn’t prove or dis-prove MON. Just a nice win and a decent performance
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes, does not prove or disprove MoN’s credentials to be Forest manager. Certainly makes a lot of the hysterical hissy fits that have permeated social media appear utterly ridiculous. What Saturday showed was that the players are with the manager and there is hope for next season that wins like this can be built on.

Must’ve had a big Sunday night out in Nottingham the night before?

View, just seen the pen in your game
Kind of break you can only dream off at such a critical time
---------------------------------------------------------------------
I was at the other end and was surprised it was given. However, after looking at it - hindsight and replays are brilliant - I would say it was.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Only seen the main camera angle but it looked to me like your man fell into him. Irrelevant now as it was given. Kind of breaks that are sometimes season changing...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
In the context of what was happening elsewhere, really could be season defining. Championship does gift us these crazy moments!
Shame the ref at the Sheff U game didn’t see the link between contact in the box and penalty in the same way, might still have Colback available.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Bunk, we've recently been denied 2 certain penalties which arguably cost us 4 points - This would put us comfortably in the play-offs.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So many poor decisions by ref this year, needs to be looked at

Can’t put it all on the officials. The players have looked to take advantage of the officials. McGoldrick last weekend made the most of minimal contact to get Benalouane sent off. Roofe’s handball goal for Leeds. Gayle’s dive to win that penalty for WBA. That’s only a few examples of the top of my head. None really got any punishment other than Gayle’s suspension.
Yeah, the joke of the suspension is that it did other teams a favour, we were the ones that were wronged and got absolutely nothing
Standard of refs and linos has deteriorated dramatically in the last few years and will get worse as the use of VAR increases and allows match officials to abdicate their responsibilities.
There has also been a big increase of dodgy decisions going in favour of the top six clubs in the Prem when they play clubs outside the top six. (Not Liverp00 though who are always the victims)
Do you really believe that match officials go out with the intention of deliberately making the wrong call? Would you walk into your job and deliberately do something wrong? It’s a perverse argument.
Having volunteered and reffed a few junior games I can confirm that the pressure to get decisions right even with a crowd of 50 people watching is quite severe. You only have one pair of eyes!
No I'm not saying that Will. I qualified as a ref about 30 odd years ago (not that I was daft enough to want to be a ref, but as part of the Football Association's coaching qualification). I know how hard it is to be a ref, even harder now the game is so much quicker and the cheats are more skilled at cheating.
But I do believe refs are making more mistakes for various reasons and perhaps bowing subconsciously to pressure from the big clubs and the Premier League. There are also refs who love the limelight as there have always been (Jack Taylor, Roger Kirkpatrick from times past)
