Rashford and Martial

Rashford I'd keep because he has effort as well as ability even if he might not be top drawer. He tries hard and clearly cares about the club.

Martial cares about himself. Nothing else.

I agree and I’d keep him too but I get the impression he thinks he is better than he is.

I just feel both have been highly overrated since their debut seasons.

Martial by our fan base

Rashford by the media

Bench players for the other top 6 teams. Maybe a case for Chelsea.

Rashford will make it but it will take time

Martial get rid quick

Wouldn’t get rid but he seriously needs a good talking to.

He has undoubted ability and is deadly finisher but he has not progressed like he should.

He had a good run earlier in the season ironically under Jose and you think it’s time to kick and become a top player but he’s gone backwards again.

I’d give him one more season.

Should we try Martial out as a CF? He blows hot and (mainly) cold on the wing, maybe playing more centrally will see him involved a bit more. I know his direct running is part of his game but how often does he pick it up, dribble past a defender and create something out wide?

Rashford won't ever be as good as a lot of the English media seem to think he will, but I still think he will turn into a very good player. Has the right attitude for starters.

Martial on the other hand, despite IMO being the more talented of the 2, is in serious danger of falling off the radar. I've always been a fan of his but recent performances have been lazy and quite frankly pathetic. There are no more hiding places for him - another season with no progression and we've got to seriously consider getting rid,

Might not be a bad idea. He’s been abysmal out wide but the problem is Rashford has been dreadful when played wide as well.

Martial is far more talented than Rashford but doesn't utilise his brilliance enough. Rashford has regressed a lot and it seems its ever since he put some muscle on.

Been saying it about Martial for a while

Weirdly Jose’s mindgames worked with Martial and we were seeing Martial actually try this season. Don’t think anyone can drag out the very best of him consistently though.

Rashford while not perfect at least puts a shift in.

I’d genuinely be up for getting rid of Martial and bringing Zaha in on the left. That guy is desperate to play for a big club again and has worked with Ole before

Rashford turned into Welbeck.

Zaha won't come back here and for what he'd cost I don't want him back.

Lozano would be my shout. Nicolas Pepe & Lozano. Ideal world Sancho but that ain't guna happen this summer.

I’m so bored of talk about Martial’s “talent.”

Some posters will recall I've been a long term and near enough lone voice advocate of Martial being given more time a CF. His movement and work rate is too poor to be wide player in the modern game and he ends of drifting out of games for long stretches of time.

Players usually only become top players when brought into a top team they can fit into.

There are exceptions of course, but for the best part youth relies on quality and experience around them.

You’ve also been praising lukaku constantly. Despite him being utterly sheite for the majority of his united career

Still has a nearly one in two strike rate for us despite never having been set up in a system that suits him

He’ll probably leave this summer but was far from the worst signing we’ve ever made

He is the out and out striker. Martial is much younger and in my view a much better footballer. Yes both their attitudes stink at times but at least Martial has talent, not scoring against cannon fodder

Man Utd seem to be getting different results to what Mourinho was getting against same team so hopefully it continues against Man City.

Hoping for a tactical masterclass by OGS. Hoping that Arsenal defeat has made our players hungry again knowing this is pretty much last chance now. If we win our last 4 games we got a decent chance of top 4.

Everyone was loving these lads during our first 12 games under Ole. Not a single murmur about selling them off or moving them, just pure happiness to see them playing well.

Injuries and a collective downturn in form of the entire team shouldn't change minds quite so quickly.

I'm looking forward to seeing the further progression as Ole carves out some attack minded football over the coming seasons. I think they are both well equipped to get us to the level required.

People also think we have been playing badly for a while but the reality was we deserved to easily beat Wolves and Arsenal away and somehow lost due to comedy goals conceded in games we allowed hardly any chances and clear missed chances good enough to win a few games let alone one.

Martial and Rashford are the future. We should be getting behind them, they are still very young and nowhere near their peak. The one player after Mata who I’d get rid of is Lingard. He is 27 this yr and shows and offers literally nothing

Well I didn't "blame the manager" ....

... although they were daft enough to keep selecting them when it was self evident they were merely reserve team, squad players.

But if they are named in the squad at the beginning of a season then anyone that takes over before the end of that season is kind of stuck with them.

Rashford is ordinary, always has been always will be. No problem with never seeing him again - dump him on arsenal with the other waster

Martial is a luxury player, and united just cannot carry that type of player in a tough league campaign at the moment

Wouldn’t get rid but he’s not good enough to be a regular starter
