If it had not been for the euro run.... and Celtic being minging for large parts of the season Stevie would have been hounded out by now. Had Celtic not dropped lots of points early doors we could have been well ahead by the first OF game.

That’s the nature of cup runs.

ICT won it a few years ago after beating Falkirk in the final.

That’s what can happen in cups.

True.

Here i thought Kapo was decent then never to be seen again. Mental the amount of players that come in and out with out doing a great deal

Pena is in there twice.

This isn’t the main point btw but congrats for going to all the bother. This is over two transfer windows btw

The point is the circumstances were not the same.

If the numbers are the same then fair dos.

But the point stands that Gers were in a state when SG came in and he’s done well.

If Lennon did a similar good job or better in similar circumstances then well done Lenny👍

I made an erase of the argument?

Ok 👍 if you say so.

So Lennon had no experience of Celtic fc or of the SPL when he was appointed?

You have taken one bit of my argument and produced an impressive set of data- and I have already said fair dos to that.

But it wasn’t the whole argument.

Plus the point I made was the turn around of players SG had in the first couple of months.

Not six months.

I have no idea what Celtics turnaround of players was in the first couple of months under Lennon. But SG had to come in asses, empty and then replace almost an entire squad in a couple of months.

Point is I think he did a decent job in the circumstances.

If Lennon did the same then well done to him too👍

I don't really care about comparing SG to Lennon when he came in at first tbh.

I am far more concerned with comparing rangers of recent seasons to this season and looking forward to next

Generally not in favour of developing other teams players with no option to buy. We have arguably added about £3-4m on to Kents value this season and we will get nothing for it.

But if it is the only way we can get a player with that extra quality and it helps us win the league it is hard to be too disapproving.

Everyone uses the loan system these days so there is no real reason why we should be any different.

Likely because it blows your polishing of a jobby this season out the water.

Fact is, Rangers will have expected much more from gerrard this season than 0 trophies, 0 cup finals and just 1 win in an OF game, obviously 1 OF game to go so he may get to share the spoils of the OF cup trophy.

I have been pretty clear about my expectations since the start of the season.

Europe - exceeded
League - on target to meet
Cups - a disappointment but never a priority.

Plus I never listed in there 'Do as well as NL did when he first took over at celtic'.

Know why I never put that in there?

Because I couldn't give a flook.

The only way Rangers will have a significant player budget is if we sell Morelos.

If we don't I only expect us to spend £2-3m tops net with possibly a bit more if we qualify for the Europa group stages.

And I would expect 2 young Liverpool players to come in Woodburn is one SG likes and he is a realistic possibility for next season.

The flaw in your argument is Morelos. You'll get never get near the numbers you stated for him.

Your only chance of getting more than £5m is if Lee Congerton gets a chief scout job with some club that asks him to blow a war chest.

Rangers need 3 players of real quality and that costs money that they don't have......also not taken in to the equation is the possible improvement Celtic may have with 2 or 3 quality additions and we do have the money...all about he recruitment as always! The 3 signings on pre- contract are squad players only. I think Morelos and Kent will be away and that is a huge gap to fill and are not included in the 3 players of real quality as nothing confirmed but could be 4 or 5 if these guys go. I also don't think we will be as poor next season and this feels like an opportunity missed by Rangers, like Delia's 2nd season was with Aberdeen They never got as close again

I have stated all along it depends on what celtic do.

We are obviously all optimistic about our recruitment - but it is conceivable celtic may not get it entirely right.

Bayo, Toljan, Burke and Weah were Celtics last 4 signings. And at the end of the season they will most likely be remembered as players that contributed very little.

Celtic have had some outstanding successes in recent years but they are not immune from failure in the transfer market either. They are every bit as likely to get it wrong as we are.

And Celtic fans don't need told it is not always about the money. Coulibally cost Angers £2m and has turned out to be no more than a bench warmer for us, Kamara came in for £50k and has generally been excellent.

We got Arfield for free and he is a very decent player. Hastie will cost us £300k and may turn out to be a gem. Time will tell.

And as for Morelos' valuation. Give me a break.

If you seriously think a 22 year old 30 goal a season Colombian international striker - talked up by guys like James Rodriguez and Falcao as the future of the national team - is only worth £5m then good luck to you.

How many minutes has he played for Colombia and what's his ratio of embarrassing misses to minutes on the pitch.

Other clubs don't buy rangers players for big money any more.

Time will tell as always. Imo he's a donkey...have said it from day one and stand by it. I also predicted that your performances and results would be better without him.

If you could get the same points conversion rate with him in the team, you'd be well clear in the league. That's a fact.
