Got a feeling today won't be boring.

Please get it sorted for Sunday. Splashed out on tickets for our last game of the season but don’t want to watch a farce if Bolton end up sending their U18’s as directed to by the EFL. It would be terrible for those lads and could possibly cause friction between them and the senior squad.

As the Trotters are by Dad’s team, I want to see a resurgent Bolton come storming back out of League One next season. Don’t like the look of this Bassini character though, I must admit...

Hopeful of a Saturday night stay over in Nottingham then match Sunday. That was the plan. Booked nothing yet.

Will, I have a different opinion to you although I do respect your point of view.

As I said in a recent post, I sympathize with the players not being paid their wages, it's a despicable act by a despicable owner. However, the team would have been paid come what may. The EFL would have paid them. They must have known when they took the action to strike that in all probability there would be serious repercussions for the club and the fans and yet they carried out their threat which they had every right to do. However, what have they gained from making their stance? Absolutely nothing except to have a few days off from training and possibly not playing two games. If they don't play the two games, do they get paid? I'm not sure that they do but that apart, I would be glad to see them all down the road. Most of them are journeymen and the others have totally disregarded the short and possibly the long term Impact on the club and more importantly the supporters who pay good money to go to watch them play and contribute to their wages and the running of the club.

Disagree if you wish.

Swie, I absolutely agree. It’s time for a fresh start top to bottom, there seems to be. More than Bassini interested bring on the rest, there’s no rush now.!!

Close of play, no deal, no date arranged for the Brentford game which could be wed 8th. Oh we are in court that day. I don't think the game will happen. Pointless game anyway. Likely points deduction added to the 12 we will get hit for admin. Feels the end.

That’s a good point. Tear up the agreement with Bassini and look elsewhere. He is clearly a vulture looking to pick over the carcass of BWFC and will bring you nothing but pain. Even Anderson must see that.

Yes, I can see your point. What guarantee would there be that the EFL would pay their wages again? I would say it is pretty unlikely a second time. I’m sure Championship footballers who’ve been sensible with their money wouldn’t struggle after missing a few months wages but I think they’d been lied to multiple times and I can’t blame them for losing patience.
You say there a load of journeymen but they’ve chosen to play for Wanderers when I’m sure they had other offers.

I would say they deserve a bit of support from the fans over the issue. United we stand , divided we fall and all that? Easy to throw brickbats at the team when they’re down the bottom of the league. Wouldn’t get as much stick of they'd been top half of the table?

We can't trade while insolvent and no sign of any money coming from anywhere it looks like its only a matter of time before the A word is used. A long slow week ahead before the judge will decide.

If not mr bassini will walk away and i presume ken will appoint an administrator.

It may not sound right but I reckon administration may be the lesser of two evils when the other option is Bassini?

I am getting really pee'd off with these 48 hours...according to sky reports ELF have given Bassini another 48hours..dont they know we are in court next week?

posted on 30/4/19

Nobody seems able to make any sort of decisions they just keep dragging it out for some reason.

Ken could change all that today if he sticks to his last statement. We can only wait and see but I suspect he will hold on either in the hope that Bassini will eventually pass the test or that he has another option. Either way, time is running out.

I think we are all royally brassed off with the whole situation. I certainly am.

The EFL appear to be in as much of a quandary over this as anyone else. Their fit and proper test appears to be being made a mockery of and they don’t know what to do.

posted on 1/5/19

Their test was not fit for purpose when they cleared Holdsworth to buy the club. As far as we know he had borrowed 5 Million from Blue marble at over the odds interest and had to brink Ken in right at the last minute. Ken had some money. but possibly not enough or he wasn't going to spend it if he had it.

The EFL has a lot to answer for. If they had done a proper job, they should have stopped the sale of the club to Holdsworth and Anderson.

Will, as for the EFL funding the player's wages, there was a post on the forum that stated that the EFL rules stated that they would pay wages in a situation like ours. I must confess that I took that post as gospel but I don't really know if that is the case. Otherwise, if they hadn't gone on strike and the sale had gone through either ken or Bassini would have to pay their wages.

Because they went on strike, I'm not sure how that would affect their case.

Match on as the pfa part pay the players march salaries. Not complete agreement in the squad. My message to those not in agreement go now and never darken the doorsteps of my club ever again. The question is why has action like this not happened earlier? We would have had the Brentford game played as it is we might not have any match day staff as they have not been paid. At least we will have some football to talk about.

Well, glad we are going to get to see a match on Sunday. Today was the last day I could have got a refund on my tickets.
