we drew 4 games since losing to city... 4....
if anyhting when we equalised v city we shoudl have not let them get another... thats the game that has really set this all up.
I agree both teams have indeed been incredible and dominated all comers.
But city took 4 points to LFC's 1 in head to head and that at the end of things is where city have got their lead.
Liverpool is going to finish on more points than PSG, Juventus, Celtic, Barcelona, Bayern (points per game) and all of the other teams in one team joke leagues. What does this say about the standard of opposition in the Prem when TWO teams can amass more points than those playing in farmer’s leagues? Does this mean that the Prem is TWICE as much of a one team league than those leagues mentioned? I think it does.

If it wasn’t for Liverpool this league would be no different to the French league
Well done for your most points for second place trophy.

The French league is more competitive. PSG have less points because they have to play tougher opposition. You just have to look at City. They win pretty much every game in the Prem and then play Lyon and get battered.
"I keep seeing people especially Utd and spurs fans say we have bottled the league. 90 points isn’t bottling it. Spurs and Utd bottled the league and both are struggling with the top 4. This is a bottle job."
I've never said you've bottled anything, you could have been 10 points clear at one stage though couldn't you?
We've been crap this season, no ones said anything other than that
Yes, that's a lot of points for runners up, well done
Trying to get credit for coming second is small club mentality.
Would you rather
A) Finish 2nd on 90+points
B) Finish 1st on 80+points
Finishing 2nd seems to be all the rage these days. This is what participation trophies do to people.
In reality it's the first loser
Credit to Liverpool for the points total this season. Not convinced yet that they wont win the league. Think they'll receive far more praise for finishing 2nd (if they eventually do) than City will for winning it though (if they eventually do).
City with a squad that cost over 230m more than Liverpools at the start of the season. A bit silly to claim any team bottle it vs a team as strong as that.
Credit to them though, on course for what 199 points over two seasons? Thats facking insane. Their head to head record vs the top 6 has been the best and their win streak after falling behind us has been mental. Not much you can do. Kompany should have been sent of at the Etihad vs us though. Then again Mahrez missed a pen at Anfield, atleast they got the decision from the ref.
Another fail from Steaky boy, Sir Alex’s PL win in the 99/00 season was recorded with 91 points. The same points you’re currently on. This article will only be valid if you win your next game.
Difference being Fergie always saw 2nd as a failure.
We were 6 points behind city at one point

That's not true
If we beat Newcastle & Leicester get something off city, this site will implode.

All that matters to me personally is that this season doesnt feel like bottling anything. If we don't win the title it's because we came up against one of the great pl teams and pushed them all the way.

Yeah, I don’t think it can be either. Up to the point we lost to City then we’d only dropped 6 points all season. City had dropped a few before then but since then have got 45 points from 48 I think.
They’ve been ahead (obviously) but never by 6 points.

Not really!
I’d be disappointed but if City win both their games then fair play, they’ll deserve it.

You were 10 points ahead of them in January. It was all in your hands but you let it slip. Not as bad as being five points ahead of the pack with 3 games left, mind.

If City win their last 2 then they'll have taken 51/54 points in their last 18 games and gone on a winning run of 14 games. That's just shy of 40% of the season as straight wins!
I know as a Utd fan you're keen to knock Liverpool but surely somewhere along the line you have to acknowledge how good City have been?
And ridiculously that 14 games winning run is still short of City's 18 game run last season. They are a fantastic team.
How did we bottle the league exactly OP?
