Been to many parts of America and all of them completely different to the other. You just can’t compare on a like for like basis I’m afraid.

What I would say is I’ve never had a bad holiday or work experience over there. As with everything stay away from the areas you’re advised to and you shouldn’t have any bother.

All in all I’ve lived the place. It can certainly show pretty much anywhere else in the world how to treat a customer right that’s for sure.

Just got back from Vegas on Saturday night love going there. Loved all my trips to the states. You do need to stay on the beaten track at times though.

Ffs Jum. You must have spent some dough in 6 months in Vegas.

That's the sort of humor kneaded here

I like it. Gotta lot of shiiiiit that would probably prevent me from living there but it’s my favourite place to visit.

Parts of California are very nice, like San Diego. Oregon is my favourite though, my girlfriend is from Portland so everytime we go back we stay mainly there. Fantastic city, heading back again end of July, can’t wait.

Great grub up there in portland. Went for a Thai meal in restaurant that was basically a shack. Queue round the block. Best Asian good I've had anywhere

Portland is super trendy and a real foody/craft beer place. You find some amazing places to eat and drink there

Yes! Cartlandia is amazing.

Had the best grilled cheese of my life there, gruyere and Brie, fire roasted red peppers and some kind of a relish thing. Amazing

It's a great country to travel if expensive

The major cities are all so different from each other

I`ve been to the US numerous times for work holiday and to visit family. Never had a bad experience that you could point to being because they are american. I love the place and would still consider moving there.

Been a few holidays in America and loved every one of them.

Obviously got many flaws but it's not like Inverness is booming Juke

Go anywhere you`ll see the quirks of the locals. Some you will like, some you won`t. Would be a boring world if we were all the same.

Been to the states loads and lived there a couple of times.

NY is a cool city to visit - but its like London for me - if one more koont bumps into me walking down a busy street pulling a trolley case, whilst farting about on their phone then looks up at me like its my fault when it happens....

West coast is great. Lived outside San Fran for a bit. That's my favourite area and I would move back there in a second if work permitted.

So much to visit in that area - Yosimite, Nappa Valley, Santa Cruz etc - Lake Tahoe is just a few hours drive away and is great for Skiing in the winter/biking in the summer.

Food portion sizes are just mental in some of the chains. Pretty disgusting really. But you do get into the culture of taking away your leftovers for reheating when you are living there. At first that seems weird but then you realise that a main course is actually about 2 1/2 regular size portions so why not?

The drive down the coast to LA is cool to do. The worst thing about it is when you arrive in LA! so you might as well keep going and head to San Diego instead.

The people I lived and worked with were pretty cool. I worked in the techy areas so lots of pretty switched on forward thinking people.

Size wise the people were hilarious. They were either absolutely ripped gym bunny types or 25 stone hippos....not much in between!

Lived in Ohio.......not my cup of tea, religion and hunting are two things I'm not on board with. Missus home state though.

Lived in Lawrence Kansas.......feckin awesome, best town in the USA by a distance, miss it every day.

Now live in New Jersey.......not too bad at all and access to so many great places and an hour from NYC and plenty of drinking.

Hopefully moving to Arizona this year.

Often wondered if your name was to do with Cincinnati.

I mentioned above, I would still move to the States, but really not sure how wise it is. Over 50, so pretty risky in the first place. Giving up 6 weeks holiday a year and a job as secure as it probably can be these days.

The OP is clearly talking out of his ass.

He's either never been to the US - or - his view of the US is quite distorted by the single place he's visited.

Either way, if you hate it THAT much, then don't come back.

@rse mate
----------------------------------------------------------------------
First off, I am not your "mate"....

Secondly, your view of the US is a combination of ignorance AND radical-left media talking points.

Only in the US could you have so many special programs for minorities, yet claim that you could never get a leg up. It's the same peddled lie by the left to gain votes.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well my view isn't and he's not far wrong.
I have not been in that sheithole since '95 although I live a 40 minute drive from the border.
I would not give them 1 dollar. Fekum.
