DPL, Coventry - Drexit now or Drexit later!

Having watched most of the first half when we were supposedly second best I was impressed with the composure. We did what Sunderland failed to do. We coped with Coventry better than Portsmouth did too a fortnight ago.

Yet we have played much better and will obviously have to pull it out against Charlton. Fans of the other two will be disappointed and the pressure on their players will be enormous, but one of them will come through their matches and some belief will thereby be restored. But great expectation will return for the Final and we will have to hope that we will be the team that can capitalise on it.

So, first we have to deal with a Charlton side right at the top of their game, not feeling too pressured, confident that they should be able eliminate Doncaster Rovers reasonably comfortably, the also-rans who no one has seen how well they can perform for several months.

Comment 26a, appropriately about James Coppinger.
Copps has just signed another one year contract.

Yorkshire Lad squeezes into a narrow lead and we all fail to anticipate the big crowd, the biggest in a home league match for us this season. I had factored in 2000 Sky Blues fans, but underestimated the home following. 10,000 is 3000 or more above what has been typical.

I was going to make some general remarks about the year's forecasting so far but decided to postpone them until we had completed the campaign, but I did notice that my score needed to be reduced by 3 when I gave myself 3 correct score points in game 1 when it should have been 0.

It was interesting to see what we all were saying about McCann after he was appointed and what he was saying (which was not a great deal), but attacking adventurous football was more or less promised. We now know that he is the epitome of quiet confidence and he certainly delivered a more enterprising style in the early part of the season. That is less evident now and no doubt he will be planning how to build on more recent performances in tackling the Charlton challenge.

Finally I am conscious of the failures in the appearance of these tables. I use a variety of browsers and I ensure a reasonable fit on the one I happen to be on - Edge today, but it does not always present the same if I come back to it on one of the others. If I do this again next season I'll try to improve.

Lanza, you could have been on about anything TBH.

Liverpool has shown anything is possible, so Rovers will beat Charlton. Now for Spurs to beat Ajax and have an all "English" final. That would be difficult for me as I was a Spurs fan in the early 60s, but then became a Liverpool fan at their success time.
The Reds manager is amazing - as are the team after the injuries. Liverpool will be Champios of Europe, if not the Premier League!

Conisbrough coming from 4 - 0 down to beat Mexbrough on the Denaby crags proved anything is possible.

And now Spurs - the underdogs win! How anyone cannot like football after these two nights I do not know, and as a former Rugby player I'll just just give them, gawd forbid, American Football!

Recent results nearly as good as Rovers being 4-0 down to Dover and winning 5-4 in the Conference!

I had a dream Rovers were going to the playoff final but my LNER train broke down on the way to Wembly.

What an emotional week! Can the Rovers top this! It is wonderful that Arsenal's manager was with Valencia when they won three? Europa leagues - I remember being in a Manchester Airport hotel in 2016 and watching Valencia beat Liverpool.
And now we have Piete Cech playing against his old club in the final - you could not write this and be believed!
I want Arsenal to win, if only that we would then have five teams in the Champions League again.
If you have not read this on the Beeb, you will see why we are all crazy about this great game.

Donaldo - are we going to treat the Charlton game as a "sell-out"?

Of the top six in the PL, the only clubs not in a European final are from Manchester.

Micky: It is probably a good idea to omit the crowd forecast. I'll do the preview tomorrow.

Rovers vs. Charlton

I'll not be getting up in time for your mid-day kick-off (especially as there is no iFollow), so I'll give my prediction here.
Rovers to win 3-1 with Marquis scoring the first. I'm hoping Copps will do his magic as against Southend, but when I bought a new computer last autumn, my entry password is a jumble of many things Rovers including King Alick. However in the middle is JM28 as that was the goals he would score this season. So come on John, you need three more!
Donaldo, if you include the crowd, I'll say 13,910.
