I’d imagine it’s getting harder now we have a relatively unproven manager and (probably) no CL

Possibly but there’s no shortage of players that want to play for United you can be sure of that.

Feck me fans are impatient these days. It’s literally just turned May.

Well it’s some randomers making it up to be fair. Never seen the lad play. The real deal or a one season wonder?

Manchester United is a massive club and can compete with any other club in the world. We are crap at signings because we didn't prepare for life without Fergie.

Six years later, there seems to be slow but certain progress in the way we identify and purchase talent, with a DOF almost certain to join the club.

Whilst that’s not untrue fans always think that, because they’re fans. These guys are working, it’s their job. They want to go into the best work environment where they can be paid well and succeed (win trophies or compete at the very least).

I remember loads of pool fans thinking that for years, under Hodgson, kenny and Rodgers. Truth is we had to pluck unproven talented potential and try to grow it is Suarez, Coutinho, Sturridge etc. Players just didn’t want to come play for us.

Wasn’t until Klopp came and showed he could get us at least back into the champions league that we’ve started signing some quality players, Alisson, Fabinho and VVD.

I dont think united will have as hard a time as we did, but i don’t think it’ll be “oh there’s loads of big players that’ll just join us” either.

I was talking about our club over the years where we have very rarely bought players at the very top of their game. Not sure why people are saying we have to do that now. It’s buying the right players and proper coaching. I wouldn’t say Liverpool have bought any of their current players that were world class at the time

Look at the clubs Liverpool signed their players from. Hardly stellar ones but the players really do fit what they are trying to do and it's working for them.

And when we do buy players at the top of the/their game they flop.

Real aren't having the best of seasons, but even if next year is worse they'll still be able to sign top players.
