And we are supposed to be naive enough to believe the bbc would write an article about Nuno saying ‘despite the fantasies of Wolves fans, would run there without saying good bye’

The system that is set up to award the hosting of both the World Cup and Olympics is ridiculous really, and the money it costs to make a serious bid is disgraceful. Doesn't excuse the likes of Platini from accepting backhanders, but the system almost invites that kind of behaviour.

Just to add a bit of interest to the Euro U21 Championship taking place at the moment, just noticed that Rafa Mir is in the Spanish squad. He came on as an 85th minute sub in their first game that they lost 3-1 to Italy. Their next game is on Wednesday evening against Belgium.

Real Zaragoza are evidently interested in taking him next season.

Good to see Mir is still involved at that level and that he is still attractive to other clubs. One of our smarter signings at that level in recent times it seems.

The biggest signing of the summer is set to be Griezmann from Athletico to Barcelona. And Athletico are going to spend €120m as a consequence on the Benfica teenager linked with Wolves, Joao Felix

As part of their usual chaotic start to the football season, Birmingham City have sacked manager Gary Monk. It is understood there was a falling out over the sale of Jota to rivals Villa

The draw for the 1st qualifying round of the Europa League was held today. The draw for the 2nd qualifying round, involving Wolves, will be made tomorrow at midday, and Wolves will have an either/or draw against a 1st round winner

Wolves first match will be on July 25 and we wont know who we are playing until the 1st round second legs are over on July 18.

Who do you fancy playing in our first game?

Cardiff Met University

Would be handy if we did have say the Cork/Cardiff tie first given how early it is in the season.

Joao Felix the Benfica teenager linked with Wolves has now signed for Athletico Madrid to replace Barcelona bound Griezmann. The sale bought in €120m euro as part of the impressive list of players produced by Portugal in recent years with Wolves being a big beneficiary as is Mr Mendez who has evidently pocketed a small fortune from this Felix sale. Under the current ownership Benfica have now received over €1b in transfer fees

Mexico beat Canada 3-1 last night to virtually clinch their place in the quarter finals of the concacaf gold cup. Just the one assist for Jiminez in this one

I see that Bully is promoting the Salomon Rondon deal. Wonder if this rumour has any real legs? He certainly knows where the net is.

posted on 20/6/19

I was impressed with Rondon last season. Newcastle desperate to keep him so it would take a big offer from us to get him and the transfer plus the wages might mean we go for someone from abroad

See the championship fixtures are out today and on the weekend we entertain Man Utd in our first home match, Albion have a trip to Luton. Makes you envious don’t it

Luton were the first team I saw Wolves play so glad to see them back and hope they murder the boggies.

Sanson and Rondon rumours continue.Weird how quiet it's been in regards to PL transfers across the board. I can only think of Man Utd and West Ham who have signed anyone of note.

Think all the summer tournaments are slowing things down with South America, Central America, Africa and two u 21 tournaments

posted on 20/6/19

It’s been the norm over the years that not many transfers happen in June. Most actually in August. But now the uk deadline is the start of the Premier League and as the Europa and Champions League qualifiers begin in July you would have thought that more business would be done early

Guess we will play a lot of Premier League games on Sunday or even Monday this season while we are in the Europa League. The first game away at Leicester has already been moved to Sunday just in case

========================================
I actually watched the game as it was live and Jimenez had a good game. His assist came after the 'keeper saved his goal bound shot, but palmed it straight to an unmarked player. He had two good attempts, one just before HT when his shot was saved and just after HT when his header was saved just under the crossbar. He also had a hand in the 3rd goal. His flicked header allowed for a cross to come in from the right and it was cooly finished.

So overall, a good performance, but I hope he gets rested for Sunday's final group game, as Mexico are through to the next stages.

Ive warmed a little to Spiers recently, though the podcasts are pretty annoying, though that's more down to Judah than TS.
