Done well has Wardy, arguably the most successful of our squad from back then.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Definitely, not arguably.
Which kind of proves what a sorry bunch of misfits we had in the Premier League back then. Truly amazing that we survived for 3 seasons with such a limited squad of players.
Obviously the league was a fair bit weaker back then, but still........
Wolves are revealing further details of their development of Molineux which as well as taking stadium capacity to 46,000 will include a new hotel on Whitmore Hill behind the corner of the South Bank and Billy Wright stands
Wardy has had a good career, has improved with experience at club and international level and one of the few that improved as player after leaving Wolves.
In my view, Fetcher and Jarvis were better players but for different reasons their careers did not really flourish, in Jarvo's case went backwards because of injuries.
Read an interview with Jarvis recently where he said he was regularly reduced to tears by the way injuries ruined his career. As for Fletcher, never a favourite of mine. Talented player who could have achieved a lot more with a more professional attitude
Thelwell quoted as saying there won’t be many changes to the Wolves squad this summer. But still looks like Costa and Cavaleiro will be moving on. Ronan expected to spend more time on loan at the Slovakian club he did so well at last season. And Ryan Giles set to go to Shrewsbury on loan.
Meanwhile Enobakhare is one expected to get a chance in the early Europa League games
Looks like Amiga's story about the Asda site being developed by Wolves for a hotel and leisure development was only slightly wide of the mark...by about a quarter of a mile.
Be a much needed development for Wolverhampton. Sadly lacking a decent quality hotel
Stayed at Novatel last week. £5 for the privilege of using their empty carpark overnight.
Wolverhampton has suffered for so long from a lack of imagination, the council have done nothing to attract visitors or enterprise in to the city as far as I can see, in fact quite the opposite, big employers have disappeared from the place.
Compare to Stoke, similar size and population, which has done much more in recent years to encourage small businesses and has really pushed its industrial heritage in a positive way attracting visitors and investment (Wedgwood, Trentham, Hanley cultural corner, Festival park) mostly private investment but all the same the city council has helped incentivising the investment. Wolverhampton has done zilch for may years and seems to be being led by Fosun/Wolves only now into action.
Jiminez and Dendoncker officially become Wolves players on Monday. By signing on July 1st the costs go into the 2019/20 accounts not 2018/19 which helps ffp
Agree with you oldgold and yet Wolverhampton were voted council of the year in 2017. I think that must have related to the i54 development. Investment in the city centre has been sadly lacking
Signing of Raphaël Nya confirmed
I was wondering about i54 when I was typing the post above and wasn't sure if that area was in South Staffs or not, must be right on the border.
Anyway welcome Rafa, I look forward to seeing you playing for us in the champions league in a few years time.
Anyone know how you pronounce Nya?
Its going to be Knee-yah for me regardless of the proper pronounciation

Or pronunciation if you prefer
It's Enya, like the female singer?
The deal for Costa to Leeds is being reported as a £2m one year loan fee with an obligation to buy next summer for at least £10m
Where's my keys....
