99 points average over two seasons: about to throw another £250m at it by siphoning funds into the club through shell companies and blag sponsors. Victory for football and all that.

The question would be, what can we do to be that little bit better.
We just needed an extra goal or two, that's all.
Being more clinical or more shots from distance. would love to see stats on shots from Distance (outside the box) im convinced we have one of the fewest. That's not just predicated on Kompanys goal either.
Coutinho used to score the majority of his from outside the box.
So a goal scoring midfielder would be a player we should seek.. Ruben Neves would fit the bill from Wolves.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not sure it can’t be looked at like that.
The guy who comes in to take the long shots that adds the extra goal may well be taking the place of someone who completed a couple of assists (for example).
One way to definitely look at it, is if you’d beaten United you would have won the league.

We could finish 5th in fairness. Arsenal away at Burnley in a meaningless game. If we win we'll come 5th.
Klopp came 8th in his first season. That was fun.
City's dominance is why I don't really understand why so many neutrals want them to win it. I know we have some annoying fans but we couldn't have given anymore this season, have had a decent bit of luck such as Pickford, and it's still not going to be enough to overturn this City side.
They're going to be the first side in 9 years to retain the trophy whilst picking up 198 points from a possible 228. Just 30 points dropped over 2 seasons and they don't look like stuttering anytime soon. They're rumoured to be signing players such as Bruno Fernandes and Rodri this summer who will strengthen them even further.
Genuinely can't see another wide winning the title now until Pep leaves.

In fairness, United finished 2nd last season, we were awful under Rodgers the season before Klopp joined. Not comparable.
Also with Klopp you could see the improvement (hence the EL run where we made short work of United). Not sure you can see it with Ole...

Interesting how we were the only team to get any luck this season.
Or you’d think so the way some people go on.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah we will forgot the luck city have had. It all fits with the narrative for some to console themselves that they could not challenge as they did not get any luck.
Having lived through two eras of actual dominance (by yourselves and United), it is way too premature to call it that. We haven’t yet even retained the title and have never done, unlike both of those teams who not only retained it but also won it three times in a row. This season will be the closest title race in a long time too.
Wouldn't it be fantastic if all the people who have already convinced themselves that Manchester City have wrapped up the title with one game to go & are sitting comfortably in their own anti-Liverpool private universe ended up with some massive Seagulls™ eggs all over their smug, sad faces???
Or perhaps the seagulls could drop something worse....
The best team wins the most points over 38 games and wins the league... Its very simple. If you wanna be the best, you have to beat the best... You guys had great season but it looks like it wont be enough. Nobody gives a shlt how many points the second place team gets.... Time to win your last game, suck it up & go again next year.
