We are not CL standard team. However, we need the cl money. Without it we are going to be on a very tight budget again and we will struggle too attract top top players
Yeah, i know it's a catch 22, but would our owners even spend that kind of money on our chit squad?
If anything we could be accused of complacency untile we lost momentum and confidence. Had we won both the home games we would have qualified in the top 4!
Look at the changes Emery made against Palace that started the slide.
Its obvious that playing in the Europa, Thurs/Sunday has brought on fatigue. Combine that with some witless low concentration players like Mustafi and Xhaka and you have a toxic combination.
I said a while ago when fans were so desperate to have Xhaka back from injury that we were getting results even though we weren't playing well and it would be a mistake to wish him back into the team. Any improvement he would provide in linking play would cost us more in his mistakes and so results. Thats what happened!
Let's be honest, when everyone is fit, only the following players are guaranteed starters
Leno
Bellerin
Lacazette
Torreira (some questions marks here as well)

You may be clueless about politics but good article Kami

Thanks regarding the article.
Just cause I have a different view point on politics doesnt mean i dont know about it. I aint clueless and you deep down know it
Emery does have to take responsibility with some of his decisions but what can he do when his squad is awful.
If you are going to blame anyone, blame Kroenke. His joke of investment wouldnt help a bottom 4 team let alone a team with CL aspirations. Guardiola or Klopp wouldnt have done much better
Kroenke doesn't spend money. He let Wenger have free reign on players he bought. Gazdis did Wenger's bidding. I am not sure how you blame Kroenke in this situation. There are some very stringent ffp and premier league rules that stop us spending more than we earn. Kroenke is not a country so I don't see how he can inject money without being caught. All we can hope as fans is that he doesn't take money out of the club.
The disharmony amongst the Arsenal fans is mindblowingly bewildering. Here is a club that has been been grossly mismanaged now for over a decade, by a regime and manager that were clearly not fit for purpose, whilst it’s fanbase sat idly by expecting things to sort themselves out.Turmoil had to be expected, especially when the structure and resources inherited were always going to be questionable and suspect to breakdown at any given time.Arsenal FC became a second tier club once it became clear that our manager and his cronies became only concerned in “participation” and not “competing”.Like all Arsenal supporters I want us to go through against Valencia and hopefully win the final in Baku later this month. If we manage to do this we should all rejoice.Unfortunately, I know there will still be some supporters clambering for change, YES, that’s right, those same supporters who sat idly by for so many years supporting a regime that was eroding everything the club stood for.Strange old world.

The players were exposed under pressure but so was our manager
Everton
Palace
Wolves
Leicester
Brighton
We picked up 1 point from these games.
The manager a has to take a large proportion of the blame here.
My issue is the way he has approached these games. Team selection v Palace, crazy subs v Brighton etc
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nobody is absolving Unai from blame, but to call for his sacking after one season with the squad we have is mindbogglingly daft.
Yes, the collapse has been pitiful but balancing a top four bid and Europa success is a difficult task, especially with the mentally weak players at his disposal.
Recall Jose had to throw the league to be successful in Europa last season.

Seems fairly clear that he does take money out of the club in fees, loan repayments and such like. He is a shrewd businessman who keeps it tightly concealed. He has said publically that he wants a return on his investment. Then you have to take into account that he used Arsenal as collateral in his building a new stadium for whatever team it is in LA. That meant that Arsenal had to have strong cash assets so couldnt spend the money they did have. He also doesnt invest in the club according to this (not the best of sources, but another question about him raised) https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/8118693/arsenal-stan-kroenke-invested-no-money-decade/
Kroenke is allowed to put some money in but is limited
That article seriously highlights City's repeated Breaching of FFP. 90% of their cash outlay from the owners. The books can't possibly balance so why the hell haven't they been punished?
Lower league clubs have been hammered for this, yet City has the whole country kissing peps ass and hailing the team the greatest ever blah blah blah. Not at all. They've clearly cheated every step of the way. Really is about time they were sanctioned as heavily as they've overspent.
As for sacking Emery. Shut up will you. You got a bloody cheek being angry after the season we've had. I tell you, the toxic twitterheaded morons in the Arsenal fan base are just as big a problem at our club as Kronke. Regrettably, Wenger's greatestest triumphs left AFC much like the earth's oceans. Seriously polluted by plastics.
I agree with you OP, the only thing that sticks in my craw is that from our last 6 PL games we have only taken 4 points - and 3 of them were very lucky, hanging on desperately against 10 man Watford.
Basically our PL season TOTALLY collapsed costing us a top 4 spot - Emery deserves another season to build HIS team but he has to take part of the blame for this appalling implosion...
It's ok we have Emery and we are happy with the progress he has made and 5th. No manager could get Aubameyang Lacazette toreirra Leno Ozil etc to play well enough to beat 17th place Brighton and Hove albion in a dead rubber for them
