So you call him a cheater and blame him without knowing what he actually said?

What they didn’t show you was Jon Rudkin tapping up Kevin de Bruyne all evening.

The OP makes a good point. I thought pep' s exchange with chilwell looked very strange.

Anyone got a video? I appear to have missed this. However the Chillwell rumours have been around a while and wouldn't be surprised if they made an approach.

He did it with a player last year didn't he - had a heated exchange with someone after the game and appeared to be giving the player advice.

Can't remember who it is but think it's highly unlikely it was part of a plan to tap the player up!

Didn’t call him a cheater, or blame him for anything. I just asked what people’s views were on I’m openly snogging Chilwell after the game. More amorous than Pepe le Pew!

Just got a transcript from a lip reader. Apparently as he walked over and cupped Chilwell’s balls, he said “these two beauties are mine to manage next year young chap”.

True fact.

People in football industry having a conversation shocker!!!

Tielemans isn't even your player.

posted on 7/5/19

He did the same with Nathan Redmond last year, he’s a bit of a weirdo and intense so it can look aggressive and everyone was up in arms after the game but Redmond confirmed he was just praising the way he plays football and encouraged him to keep improving. Chilwell and Tielemans are both also young, talented, aesthetic footballers who he probably wanted to praise in the same way

Can't see Leicester getting Tielemans on a permanent anyway, tbh. Doubt he will end up at City though.
Chilwell to City makes a lot of sense.

Interesting. I didn't see the incident so can't really comment on that aspect of it.

On Chilwell then let's hope we get about £75m for him before anyone realises he hasn't got a final ball. He's currently a long way behind someone like Robertson at Liverpool. Hopefully he stays and develops his game with us.

Tielemans can consider all his options. He wouldn't get into Man City's team and is probably not ready to carry the midfield at somewhere like Man Utd and would be under immediate pressure there. We seem just the right size club for someone at his stage of development and he would get a lot of games here. But, as we know, he'd probably find it difficult to turn down if a CL club comes in for him even if he would be learning his football from the bench.

To be fair I actually dont have a problem with this at all......... there are numerous conversations that go on between players and other players and/or other Managers. It just so happens that this was in the public eye, its always happened and always will.
I just think Mersey is being a tad sensitive as its our own players.

Regarding the 2 players in question -

Chilwell - will probably a summer of rumour and counter rumour then end up staying with us anyway. Man City seem to be putting faith in Zvitchenko (or whatever his name is) so that route maybe closed.

Youri - I am not concerned about Man Utd or Man City etc but I concerned about Spurs looking at him as a long term replacement for Eriksen. He looks to be winding his contract down to get a big move away so Spurs may see YT as the replacement. Lets hope we have made his feel wanted and that he has enjoyed his football here, but who can tell.

Tielemans would be a perfect fit for Spurs. But don’t tell them that.

Shhhhhhhhh.

To clarify my OP, I was trying to be a bit tongue in cheek and I’m not hugely bothered by this. Let’s not pretend that tapping up via other players isn’t still commonplace in the game. In some ways, I like the fact Guardiola didn’t do that stupid hand over mouth thing and a PR robot!

Makes for good rumour and conjecture though doesn’t it.

Here’s a question for Leicester fans. Would you switch Chilwell for Tierney with £30+ net profit in the deal?

I haven’t seen enough of Tiernay to really know, but it does seem like he is highly rated.

What I do know is that Chilwell still has some way to go before we can consider him a top player. He’s athletic and improved immeasurably with regular football, but still has issues with distribution and a final ball.

posted on 7/5/19

Agree Joby. Chilwell seems to be calm and composed on the ball, can play some neat and quick passes but still gets caught out of position too regularly and hasn’t got a final ball yet.

I can see him equally stepping on in a couple of years or stagnating and “doing a drinkwater” at a big club. I certainly wouldn’t be crying if he were to leave for big bucks.

Hoping Bournemouth haven’t been watching Gray over the last season and come back in for him in the summer.

Yeah. That’s just the hook isn’t it, red top style. Then when you read the article you realise it has nothing to do with the sensationalist headline. Cunning.
