This is not the Barca team of the past
================================
These teams never are when Liverpool beat them.😂
I wouldn't even say Barcelona played poorly, especially not in the first half. They had chances and much like Liverpool at the Nou Camp, they wasted them but also down to some top class goalkeeping. The game went completely to script for Liverpool.
Exactly like Barca said in the 1st leg, the game was tough because of the intensity Liverpool played at and that was certainly apparent in the 2nd half last night. Valverde says they lost the game at 4-0, but once that 2nd goal went in, they'd lost the game then imo.
Liverpool applied pressure and ran considerably more than Barcelona. Once you've got the momentum and belief it's easier to keep it going than snapping out of gears 1 or 2.
Tried to play the mouihno way and it backfired. Should have went on the attack and got the goal that would have killed the tie.
Still hope Ajax do it as that would be some story. To take a team of youngsters to the top against the biggest spenders in Europe would be some achievement.
The Barca of this season were too overhyped. For a long while even we, the third placed team, had more points in the league compared to them. They are a good team with one outstanding individual, whereas Liverpool are an outstanding team, which is more important.
Was quite amazed by the way we were allowed to control the game and have so much time in possession. Not used to seeing that against Barcelona.

Same with Spurs when we've beaten Real Madrid, Inter Milan, AC Milan, Dortmund etc all of a sudden theses teams are poor.
We're just a really good football team who managed to beat another really good football team over two legs.
It's that simple

Firstly, what a performance from Liverpool. Result of the season for me. I fancied Liverpool to win the tie but thought three + goals was a bit much to ask, given the players they had out, and the talent Barca has going forward.
Before the match it was clear LFC (as Klopp always does) were going to press Barca high up the pitch. Why this was not countered by Barca until they were three down is anyone’s guess. Still made for a great result for LFC. Hope they win it now.

Exactly.
To answer the OP - very, very poor.
After the first leg, Messi warned the Barcelona players that that game was played at the pace Liverpool wanted, and he said they [Barcelona] were all exhausted and couldn't play at that pace again, but that's what has happened again.
Inspired to try football?
They fell for a trap. In the wide areas, two or three Liverpool players were always around them. Barcelona tried to look for that extra pass but couldn't find it and lost possession. Barcelona have not played a team like this in a long, long time.
Andy West - Spanish football writer
The fourth goal summed up Barca: mentally and physically slow and complacent, unable to keep up with Liverpool's speed of thought or legs.
They tried to play with control but Liverpool were too fast and intense, and Barca couldn't match it. Blown away.
Guillem Balague - Spanish football journalist on BBC Radio 5 Live
Jurgen Klopp understood what happened in the first leg better than Ernesto Valverde. In that game, Liverpool had a lot of chances and played a high tempo that Barcelona struggled with. Klopp said they didn't do much wrong in the first leg and they did not have to change much, so they did the same again tonight.
For three-quarters of the tie, Barcelona were inferior, scared and unable to find answers. For me, Messi was saying: 'How do I influence the game?' For the last hour, where was he? Not many teams have ever done that to him.
Like balague said if you saw Messi in the first leg he was desperately trying to slow the game down something he never does taking time to restart getting told off by the ref for it etc, he knew...
Liverpool were average. Barcelona were terrible.

In the second half Barcelona looked stunned, confused and even somewhat intimidated? I believe that the crowd played a huge part in that win!
