Whatever happens, I don't think we will be able to take anything from the game. Just a run out to see what the fitness levels are and who needs to improve.

York 1-0

Alex Kempster hit the only goal of the game in the first half to present the hosts with a narrow victory.

Captained by Dennis Politic, the visitors got the game underway against their more experienced opponents.

Andy Bond had the game’s first effort on goal when he latched on to a low left-sided cross but his strike lacked the power to trouble Wanderers’ keeper Matt Alexander, who comfortably welcomed the ball in to his hands.

Bond was starting to become a threat for the Minstermen and again Alexander had to be on guard to keep out the midfielder from distance, this time having to get the ball at the second attempt.

Liam Smith saw his left footed drive fly past the foot of Alexander’s left-hand post after some good hold play.

Wanderers were battling in midfield but were unable to impose themselves in the final third during the opening stages of the contest.

A good piece of defending from Jordan Boon broke up a dangerous looking counter attack when Eddie Brown gave away the ball in midfield.

Alexander made another smart save – this time with his feet, as Kempster looked to curl one in from the right-hand side.

The deadlock was broken just after the hour half mark when Kempster intercepted Boon’s intended header back to Alexander. The big York striker capitalised on the indecision and slotted into an empty net to put the hosts a goal to the good.

Wanderers’ first effort on goal came from a Politic free-kick but his effort didn’t trouble Ryan Whitley in the York goal.

The visitors were getting more into the game as the half drew to a close with Politic looking very lively.

The Wanderers skipper even tried his luck from just inside the York half but the effort was wayward.

With the exception of the centre-back pairing of Yoann Zouma and Jordan Boon, Wanderers fielded a different line-up at the start of the second-half.

Wanderers earned a corner not long after the restart when Edmonson’s left footed drive clipped a York defender. The set-piece came to nothing however as the ball went out for a goal kick.

The hosts wasted two glorious opportunities to increase their lead in quick succession when Kieran Green fires over from eight yards out after ball eludes two of his team-mates before it reaches him.

Despite York having plenty of ball, the young Wanderers were showing plenty of resilience and determination to get themselves back into the game.

Senior was rather unlucky to see his glancing header from a corner go over Whitley’s cross bar as the young Wanderers pressed for an equaliser

Substitute keeper Luke Hutchinson was in inspired form for the visitors making a number of fine saves, the pick of which was a block with his legs as Dyer went one-on-one with him.

It was a good battling display from the young Wanderers who matched up to the physical battle of their more experienced opponents.

First Half Wanderers XI: Alexander Whalley, White, Zouma, Boon, Graham, Politic, Wood, Hall Brown, Darcy

Second Half Wanderers XI: Hutchinson, Assarson, Senior, Edmondson (Richards 78

Like I posted earlier it was just a runout. I'm not saying there was no effort but I have seen it when we were in the Premiership playing lowly opposition and its not been inspiring. At this stage its more about fitness..

Swie, We can’t score Parky’s still here 😉

Golden, tell me something I don't know. It's been a problem for some time now.

PP isn't fit to manage and we don't have a team. I doubt PP will be moved on and it's debatable regarding what money will be made available for players, whether they are loans of permanent signings.

For this season and in all probability the next season, it will be a building period to try and stabilise the club and hopefully then start to move forward. I would like to think that matters could be better but I think that we have to be realistic in our hopes for the club.

However, there are positives, we have rid ourselves of Anderson and the new owners will have rid us of the debt that the club was in. We are in transition but the facilities are still there. We just have to hope that the Hotel situation is sorted in favour of FV.

Well said David Lee, surely Parkinson as to listen to a coach who as spent 9/10 years with a player.
But then again it’s Parky we’re talking about,

posted on 16/7/19

Does Parky have any say in the matter? I thought that the administrator was in charge of what happens. With no official owner, Parky can only ask for what he wants. That's why a list of suitable players has been compiled by Keith Cousins, who is acting as a football advisor to the administration team.

Happen it's just as well that's happening, last season we had quite a few loan players signed that either didn't kick a ball in anger or was called on for a very limited numkber of games.

Swipe I think David Lee’s point is , he would have stayed on IF he thought Parky would include him, but new he wouldn’t.
Like players who came into the first team at the end of last season who were Star players in the side , best players on the pitch , yet overlooked all season.
Just maybe!! They were the players who could have made a difference. Sadly we will ever know.
I blame Parky for not giving youth a chance,
The new owners may enforce it.

1st team - yes there is one. Narrowly lost 3-2 to a Saudi side in a behind closed doors friendly. - 2 new trailists in the side as well as 2 familiar out of contract faces in Wheater and Brockbank involved.

Narrowly lost 3-2, that bothers me,
It’s like a Parky habit,

Will FV now pull out of the sale??

Ex-Forest owner Fawaz Al-Hasawi, another bassin type character trying to get the club via the hotel's back door?

4-6 weeks, or was it 6-8 weeks for the sale of Hotel to be done.

All going to end in tears. Brinkmanship, personal greed going to finish the club off. Liquidate it and let them fight over the carcus. Meanwhile form AFC Bolton wanderers at the bottom afc wimbledon style but run by people who care about football the fans.

This says a lot. Rochdale tickets. Pay on the gate or card at Rochdale ticket office. Must be the first time since moving to the Reebok you can't buy a ticket for a league or cup game from bwfc .

Its time for FV to make a decision. Do they want to buy the club regardless of whether or not they get the Hotel?

A decision needs to be made soon, time is running out I feel that the administrators could have organised matters better. Although the Hotel is a separate entity to the club they intrinsically linked and a little common sense could have prevailed. Still, as long as they get paid I don't suppose that they will be too worried.

Vela gone to Hibs

FV need to press the button on buying the club now and just gamble on getting the hotel. For the sake of everyone's sanity.

Don't care about Vela. Scotland's his level.

17 days left on the beano clock. Failure ventures obviously have no money. Save us bassini.

It would appear that FV does not want the club without the Hotel. I can see their point. It is intrinsically linked to the club and the business model. What would be the legal status if the hotel is sold separately and the Hotel decide to rooms overlooking the pitch on match days? Could the club stop them or would they be able to screen off the hotel depriving light of entering the rooms? It's not a good situation especially as the administrator for the hotel has indicated that it will take four to six weeks to complete the sale.

Whoever decided to split the two entities has caused a situation that is not easily remedied. If FV doesn't take a different stance on the purchase of the club, I don't see how this problem can be resolved in time for the club to meet its obligations to start the season, never mind complete it.

Matters have just got worse.

Benny, FV have got money the administrator has had proof of funds. It is the problem with the Hotel, nothing else. I think if you wish for Bassini to save us was realised, you and everyone else would soon be regretting it. Bassini is the one without the cash, He wouldn't get past the first hurdle.

reading between the lines, FV have a plan for the club, BUT the plan will not work without owning the hotel.
Another point is those inter company loans owed to the hotel from the club, are those to be repaid in full, or the lesser rate of 25p in the £.
