I don’t think this is particularly a bad thing for you guys, you need to overhaul the midfield anyway really.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

We do need a midfield overhaul... But he's probably our best midfielder unless Pogba is having a day where he can be bothered

We'll be replacing a good player and probably not replacing those who aren't up to it

So we'll not be overhauling much at all

Not much we can do if his mind was made up though.

A shame to see Ander leave. Good luck to him at PSG.

Ed Woodward and co dropping the ball again, it should have been resolved a 18 months ago, either offer a new contract, or move the player on for any decent transfer offer.

Ander had been on £75,000 a week watching others around him undeservedly getting multiples of that.

Alexis Sanchez deal massively backfired, only a bit older than Herrera and is on 5 years @ £350k

We lose one of our better and committed players for nothing in return, and it doesn't even free up enough on the wage bill to get someone of equivalent quality in.

Not massively fussed. Always gave his all but was a very inconsistent player (could be said about half our team) and played more poor games than good imo.

It could just be that Herrera has given a decent part of his career to a club that is in comparative turmoil.

He may just want to go play for a side that will give him trophies and also where he will be surrounded by a support structure that isn’t beset by morons.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
That's probably a large part of it.

18 months ago he was on the bench after being binned so Matic could plod about

From Eds point of view... And probably coming from Mourinho... Herrera wasn't a priority

Oh well, screw sentiment. He shouldn't be involved tomorrow imo. We need to move on, and quickly. I also highly doubt that he's been injured over the last couple of months. Ole himself cryptically alluded to that a few weeks ago. If we couldn't count on him when he needed him massively, we don't need him tomorrow
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Ole was also quoted as saying:

"He loves to play and he’s not very happy when he can’t help his teammates and he’s always giving his all – it doesn’t matter if he’s got five years left of his contract or five weeks."

I have always suspected that Jose had it in for Herrera after the Europey win when Herrera told Mik to get in the box for the second goal instead of trotting back to defend.

He was key to the squad, melts. Led by example in a way that very, very few of our players do.

I get it from a personality perspective, personally I’ve always had an issue with the player you turned him into though after Bilbao.

Sigh... We basically are starting from scratch. We have to hit 100% in our midfield to not be in a complete situation next year.

posted on 11/5/19

Good news that, hated him being in the opposition team.

We've now got to replace Matic, Herrera and Pogba possibly this summer or our midfield will continue to be poor.

Don't see the logic in letting him go. A replacement is going to cost £50m and probably want the wages he was asking for anyway and that replacement could end up being another Fred rather than Herrera.

I can see the black clouds coming next year for Ed and the Glazers. If they don't pull some rabbits out of the hat this summer our fans will start to voice their frustration and it won't be at Ole.

he has been one of my favourite players since he joined utd

actually since himself and martineez and co destroyed utd in the europa league.

I will miss him dearly, he had the heart of a utd player and one of the few players who would not look out of place in some of our greatest sides imo

I take consolation that he has not gone to an english club but will miss him all the same

Fack. Shouldn't have watched that. Now feel like punching every manager and ed too. We didn't need to lose him.

The club are a shambles. They keep the utter dross that don’t care about united in any way at all. Herrera actually has a good attitude and Merry even in those instances he showed more fight than anyone else. United showed now value in him and that’s why he’s leaving and I hope united fans look forward to watching free and matic next season as we won’t sign anyone half decent to replace Herrera, you can bet on and if you think otherwise, you know nothing about football and this club in the last 6 years
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’ll be alright. There there sweetie.

Ultimately suffered because of Jose's facked up agendas despite him being joses best player in his first season.

What a shame he never got to work under fergie and now ole but the damage had been done before oles arrival

We've needed the player he's become more than the player we signed though, melts.

LVG might've gotten more out of the player he was, but the one we signed from Bilbao would have had no place in a Mourinho side or, from what we've seen so far, a Solksjaer side.

He'll get loads of support from us fans tomorrow if he plays. Going to make Woodward look absolutely pathetic.

Actually wouldn't be surprised if we get Woodward and Glazer out chants tomorrow. Not in the slightest actually. It probably needs it too. Boycotting our social media channels which some fans are trying to do will do nothing.

Chanting will do precisely nothing.

There was a whole lot more than chanting last time, and that did precisely nothing too.

The ownership and executive management have bought themselves more time with the appointment of Ole, and will no doubt find another new way to hoodwink the fans once he's been thrown under the bus in due course.

😹 You do realise he was also out of favour under LvG at times too

Some people will blame Jose for everything. He’s been under Ole for months now and still wants out

Here’s a clue - maybe it’s not the managers fault here. Maybe the player just wants to win trophies and play for a better club. If none of us supported united and played for United I’m sure we’d all move to PSG given the opportunity

There was always a palpable agenda with Jose toward the perceived lvg players and Herrera was no different. The matic signing made absolutely no sense given the season Herrera had put in not to mention the fact that his best days were behind him
