Interesting Times.

Another Rincewind adventure.

Looks like you got out of Houston in time RR. The place is flooded again.

It’s amusing that you think I’m being some angsty drama queen. I’m very very positive and hopeful that eventually the club will get it right. I feel Ole is way out of his depth but I’m sure the next one will be better.

It is as you say interesting but I’ve had more than enough success over the past 25 years to accept things will be quiet from a trophy perspective for a while. I just want to see progress. And again, I just don’t see Ole as the guy to bring that. Nor do I see Ed as the guy to oversee it.

Otherwise I’m as happy as larry. Could be worse - we could be Leeds 😂

VC we were taken to see the Astros and our bus was gong through pretty deep water on the way back. Baseball was an experience - on one level it ought to be really boring, but I never felt bored. It's good natured, you sit around chatting and eat a lot of fast food. The Astros got trounced by Kansas City and afterwards everyone was ambling out, still chatting and smiling. On one hand, it lacks the high-stakes intensity of football as described in the OP. On the other, I think we could learn a thing or two about perspective from them.

And you wonder why no one on this board apart from 1952 takes you seriously.

Christ Robb.

1) This wasn't about you at all. It was actually UWW's pathetic article that drove me to this.

2) The fact that you assumed it was about you rather undermine the "I'm not a drama queen" protestations.

Anyway, let's not bash Robb on this thread. I've done enough of that on his one.

RR

Not a fan of Baseball at all, although it is a good day out as you say.

It is odd that the big screens at the venue will tell the crowd what to chant if it gets too quiet.

I'm looking forward to next season too.

I'm looking forward, hopefully, to us buying players who are hungry for success and see us as the pinnacle (for them anyway).

With 3/4 good signings, and much better conditioning, I can see us challenging for top 4 and perhaps even the top 2 if one of them have a dip (Liverpool most likely I think).

I’m just going on some of your comments about me on other articles. I’m not some kind of victim so I’ll take you on your word and try to enjoy this article in good faith 👍

It’s almost like since the PSG game we’ve had a horrific and record breaking run of form that has suggested that the manager is out of his depth.

I see VC is pretending he wasn’t against Ole’s signing at the time he joined. Now he’s going for the populist vote.

Crazy

It'll be very interesting. I'm not averse to a big signing but I do hope that all the signings will fit in to the way we want to play. Sign them for what they can add on the field and not sign the name.

Not once have I pretended that. I said at the time and will stand by it that I was under whelmed.

So, lets not tell porkies Nobb.

I think it's always kind of exciting when things have been bad and there's a change of direction coming. Not because there's a guarantee that things will improve, but it's a start of something new, which could point us back in the right direction.

I didn't feel that this time last season. Once Mourinho se the tone of a summer of negativity and not getting what he wanted, it was very hard to envisage the season ahead as one of renewal.

Get them done and done early hopefully. I don't want players who are waiting for something else.

I'm not Ole in or out but I think he deserves a chance.

There have been some worrying patterns to the way he approaches games though. Keeping Young on the pitch, only making substitutions on the 70th minute, not changing things tactically at half time when it's not going our way, playing Pogba in a deeper position.

I'm hoping a lot of this is because he doesn't have the players required to play how he wants them to play. I also hope it's because our squad doesn't have the energy required to play pressing football.

I'm giving Ole a chance because for 10+ games he was able to get the best out of those players. Lets see if he can do it for 38 games with some money and a preseason.
