never liked him, like him even less now
1987, the good old days where they got stuck in and shook hands after a crunch have long gone, these days they're over paid sissy's that do all they can to get the other sent off, yes, like Bamford!..
I hate players doing that, and by that I mean Leeds players as well!..
..............................................
Exactly LufcGermany, it's part and parcel of the game nowadays, don't know why Leeds (or other supporters for that matter) think we're the only ones who do it. There's so much at stake in these games and all the teams in it are good, the passion sometimes takes over in the players. And West Brom last night got away with a lot of rough tackles, that much is clear.
West Brom's red last night was deserved. Players should stay away from the ref though and let him do his job, villa players asking for a red from the first one. Horrible bunch.
..........................................
Harrogate, Brunt's first tackle was pretty darn bad to be honest, I've seen reds for those given a fair few times.
Bamford was a disgrace for what he did. It was cheating and pathetic.
Do you see the difference between how you condone and defend Villa's actions.
It's a constant, deliberate style of play and ruins the game. it's painful to watch.
Brunt was right to be sent off. Gayle not (again keeper staying down trying to get him sent off after minimal contact)
It's clearly how Dean Smith thinks is the best way to win. I think it's a shame because with the players you have you should be capable of playing decent football
Posted it elsewhere. watched the game with other relative neutrals last night. By end of the game everyone wanted WBA to win, completely because of the pathetic antics of the villa players.
Brunt deserved red. Bamford deserved to be disciplined and hopefully embarrassed for his antics.
But Villa are doing it as a team. It's clearly in the coaching - Terry getting it straight from the Drogba school of sportsmanship.
Such a shame as on paper you've a great, strong and capable team.
All this aside Villa are the strongest of the bunch .. if we get past Derby tonight, we better hope the stars align..
I do think we can beat Villa, over the two games this season we've won and drawn, but we do need to be at our best !
And all I said is I find it odd the way ours say Villa are crap and slag them off and one breath later they say they'll beat us!..
I've seen the way Villa play, problem is in this day and age what they're doing every team in football has players that do the same!..
The Refs have a job to do and part of that job is telling the players it goes the way he says, and when they have a problem he is well in his rights to fix it, one way or the other!..
Play acting should be well and truly stamped on, the same as players getting in the Refs face, the same as stopping play when a player is down!..
Refs job not the players!..
Odd the way 96% the time players get up and are fit enough to play on, Horses get shot for less!..
But, it all boils down to the Ref, a sign off a bad Ref is the one that runs after a player when he wants a word or give a card, he should say come here and if they don't then he should give them more stick, yellow, sometimes can be red!..
And the other day, Linesman/Ref, not sure but I've not seen it mentioned here or heard on any reports, but, the Ref and Linesman have ear and voice contact, the Ref gave the pen but the Linesman called him over, he did his job the way he saw fit and replays do say it was a dodgy call, if given some would argue, but not given the Ref got it wrong for calling it than listening to his Linesman!..
They worked as a team and whatever anyone thinks, they did right in doing so!..
Do you see the difference between how you condone and defend Villa's actions.
.........................................
I'm not condoning, I'm just giving it some justification as some teams do try to kick us a lot and it must be incredibly frustrating when you're out on that pitch and it stops you playing your normal game.
Not sure how much better justifying something that is wrong is than condoning it
I imagine you'll put Derby out, they will have to play out of their skin to overturn a 1-0 at Elland Road. Possible but unlikely. So will most likely be us meeting for a third time, let's hope there's no handbags if this is the case
I think we can beat you at our best, as you will feel you can beat us at your best. If we're both at our best, who knows. After the heartache of last year I know how hard it is losing a playoff final and would hate to see it a second year running. I know we'll have to play a lot better than last night to win - we were too slow and ponderous with the ball and we need everyone to play at their best to beat Leeds.
Either way will be a cracking final.
I said earlier I would prefer to play Villa. Even though Villa have probably the best players in this division, they have a manager who is steeped in Division 1 and Championship thinking. He makes his players run and tackle, and yes, they give it 110%, but you seldom see them playing to their potential. Honestly, if Marcelo had had Grealish, McGinn, Mings, Kodija and Hourihane at his disposal, we would have won this league in December.
Wembley is made for footballing teams. It is a smooth, spacious pitch, and players will run out of steam on it if they don't make the ball work for them.
Villa, against 10 man West Brom for 40 minutes, forced the keeper into one great save. They looked devoid of ideas when, really, West Brom were there for the kill. We saw the same thing happen when we played Villa at Villa Park. In the last 10 minutes, Villa were dead on their feet.
Give me Villa every day.
Have a watch of the sending off footage and have a look at what Grealish does, says all you need to know about them. Youd think he'd just witnessed a death.
Elmohamaddy looks poor at right back. Taylor is a red card in waiting, El Ghazzi is poor, Green wouldn't make our bench. They have weaknesses for sure.

Germany, the best side doesn’t always win you know, not how it works. Think the worry on here and my worry is that we will out perform them at Wembley, but the ref will give them a dodgy a penalty and us a soft red card because all Villa do is try to cheat. It just feels like they cannot be criticised by anyone in football. (If we get to Wembley)
.........................................
Leeds are the biggest cheats I've seen all season. You deliberately targeted Grealish all game because clearly you were worried by him and then proceeded to score an absolutely scandalous goal by pretending to put the ball out of play then playing on. Think you need to look harder in the mirror to see the real cheats.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Leeds make some cynical tactical fouls high up the pitch if necessary. Most sides do it, but that’s about the sum of our professionalism. Every Leeds fan has lambasted bamford. Haven’t seen too many Villa fans laying to Hourihane for his behaviour that game. Which was a disgrace.
Mate of mine, a Boro fan, watched the Leeds villa game live... said he couldn’t believe the cheating, play acting, in the refs-face, in Leeds player’s faces, stuff that went on the whole game... that you maybe don’t see on tv. His side have Danial Ayala in the team... and he still thought you were a disgrace.
I’ve never minded villa as a club but this side are an image of the smith/terry combo... and it’s not a pretty image.
You have some good footballers though, so will be a tough task for whoever gets you at Wembley.
john terry is a disgrace. never had any time for him as a player. his main attribute as a captain was getting his chelsea teammates to surround the ref when a call didn't go his way. never took pleasure out of opposing players mistakes but when he slipped taking a CL final penalty i cheered even though it gave the cup to man utd.
"proceeded to score an absolutely scandalous goal by pretending to put the ball out of play then playing on. Think you need to look harder in the mirror to see the real cheats."
Sorry, I'm old school and for me the whistle has the final say, players if they choose can kick the ball out, but, there is nothing in the rules off football that says they have to!..
Bielsa has now set his marker, he has instructed the Leeds players to play on, all that does is leave it to the right man to decide whether or not play should go on!..
The Referee in this case is the man that decides, and of course, his assistance's, which may I add, one did a good job in his call the last time out!..
That goal that Bielsa instructed his players to give Villa, well, you never know if he hadn't have given it you just might be arguing with ShefU fans now!..
I think we play pretty good football actually and Dean is a shrewd manager who knows how to mix up our style. Terry, I can understand the hate from opposition fans, but that type of personality helps enormously in the dressing room and can only benefit us having him on our side.
I agree maybe our squad of players should have made top two, but we had injuries. If Leeds had a top level Championship striker I could see them easily having made top 2 but they didn't sort anyone in January. I don't think Roofe is quite at that level and Chris Wood was probably your last top striker at this level. Whether that lack of cutting edge will be the difference between you going up or staying in the Championship, I don't know, but it will certainly help us. Particularly when Mings and Tuanzebe look rock solid together.
I thought Tuanzebe looked a bit of a liability last night to be honest and Villa were very lucky not to concede in the second half up to the sending off.
Our top level striker bamford will probably put two past you now.
