Albion expected to hold talks next week with Chris Hughton over their managerial role. Given Brighton’s style of play at Molineux recently the Albion fans can look forward to watching some thrill a minute football that will make Tony Pulis look like mr entertainment
As boring as he is, Hughton would probably be a good appointment for them.
I see Burnley are to hold talks with out of contract Peter Crouch to discuss his future at the club. As the man is as old as a conker tree I can imagine how those talks are going to go!
They have already dispensed with the services of Stephen Ward.
Wolfie was right all along about Wardy. Just years ahead of his time.
RAA
Ward has had a good run in the top flight since leaving us. He has been out injured most of this season though and will be 34 at the beginning of next; so its no surprise he is being released now.
Wolfie was still RAA though, yes?

Agreed. Nobody gets one over the wily old wolf.

Derby are sticking it right up Leeds - sideways!

He has exceeded expectations and given how a majority of our side back then went and fell off a cliff almost immediately it is probably a good argument to suggest Ward has done better than any of them since our relegation from the prem.
Lampard v Terry in the final then.
I had a feeling that Leeds would've beaten villa in the final but not sure about Derby. I've got a horrible feeling that the vile will win. An easy 6 points next season though either way.
Ward's had a decent career to be fair. I never got the negativity towards him, It wasn't his fault that Mick thought the sun shone out of his backside
I think the negativity came from him still being the first choice in our third prem season, but then again that could be said about most of our starters who quite ridiculously were mostly the same players that saw us promoted two years previous.
As oldgold correctly states though, non of that is the players fault.
Who's fault it was is a matter of opinion. But a good pointer is to take a wee peak at what spending a couple of hundred million pounds has done for our first eleven.
There seemed to be two criticisms of Ward. One that he wasn’t a left back and one that he wasn’t good enough to be in our team. Ironic then that after leaving Wolves he played around 150 times as a left back at clubs that were doing better than Wolves
Still doesn't make him a good player.
But good luck to him, he's made a better living than I have.
So by DJs reckoning Andrew Surman was the star that got away.
