No to Coutinho
No he’s not a upgrade on eriksen

I'd rather keep Eriksen, but give him some good competition so he needs to stay at the top of his game

posted on 16/5/19

I just don't see him willing to come or us actually being interested.

Defo an upgrade on Eriksen. Would be gutted if that happened.

Coutinho went missing against Liverpool to the delight of Klopp, and hardly is setting the world alight after his massive transfer.

Doesn't make the team tick like Eriksen does.

So no from me ,ok>

Yes, not unexpected from you

Why doesn't Klopp bid for him then?

It’s why eriksen is in champions league final and Coutinho is getting booed of the pitch for Barca

Because we have spent the sale money on VVD and Alisson. We cant splash 100m to get him back.

didnt watch him play a different role under BR then when he was deeper in a mf 3 with hendo and gerrard behind SSS?

for me thats when i enjoyed Cout the most, pulling the strings in the middle, rather than out wide where all he can really do is cut in and shoot.

If he was remotely as good as Eriksen, with vision and passing, as he is in shooting, trust me Barca wouldn't let him go

In big games, Eriksen popped up with vital goals for us. Just look at the Everton goal. Very important goal.

I personally wouldn't want Countinho instead of Eriksen, but along with him.

We had these debates when Coutinho was a Liverpool player. We will pick Coutinho and you would pick Eriksen.

Guess the question OP is asking if Eriksen is leaving would you be happy with Coutinho?

Im a fan of Eriksen even in his poor games he puts in a shift so i found it strange when i saw Spurs fans giving him stick only a few weeks ago, but hes not better than Coutinho.

No I did. That's the mystery for me as to why he is left to rot on the left hand side

He impressed a lot of people when he was given a certain degree of creative licence in the middle.

Well I don't know the reason but he is played there and he is not as effective.

Hard to quantify who's better. But it's easy to check who is making the most impact on the side. That's Eriksen

Noises coming out that Spurs are looking at Nelson Semedo from Barca for RB.

He looked decent when he came on both times v Liverpool, jet heeled as well.

An upgrade on Trippier/Aurier?

posted on 16/5/19

Nah. Coutinho will be on silly wages now anyway. He'll leave to make room for Griezmann, but it won't be to Spurs. Maybe back to Inter.

posted on 16/5/19

As for Coutinho, the antithesis of a Spurs signing.

Non-starter.

Definitely an upgrade in raw talent, but he's pretty lightweight which wouldn't bode well for the Premiership. It does suggest Pochettino wants to get back to the days of quick, dynamic wing backs though, which can only be a good thing. Just as long as Trippier facks off I'm happy

The fee barca would want would make it a risk, lets be honest 140 odd million was a lot even for a player of his quality. Its a gamble as you dno how much this episode has effected him. Cant see him joining another prem side though but if he did it'd hurt a little. I don't see where he'd fit in our team either unless Klopp played him deeper in a role similar to BR used him.

Cant see him leaving for these reasons, who will pay up what barca would need to save face? also cant see him wanting to quit so soon and leave his dream club.

Coutinho fails the "if he played for Liverpool' test. If he played for Liverpool would you rate him as a player capable of winning a PL title?

Tipped to move at 30m.
