Which means coming to the end of the season they tail off.
AFCON doesn’t finish till July 19th which makes it worse.

The authorities moan there aren't enough young homegrown players coming through to first team squads, then apparently do their utmost to help block their paths.

Yea agree mate.
Sure sign Southgate has lost the plot picking Trippier and Dier. He is moaning as well because Spurs and Liverpool are still to play the CL FInal.
Somebody should tell him the CL is the biggest club competition in the world, and far outweighs some ridiculous Summer International Tournament that nobody cares about.
I was reading an article from an interview with Trips and he said he has not been his best this season for tge standards he sets for himself.
It's a shame he has no pace otherwise he would be decent.

Southgate is just like all the managers before him. They all have their favourites and pick players who don't merit being included.
This is the provisional squad, there’s no way trippier make the final 23 with Walker and TAA ahead of him
Even Winks should be withdrawn, he is not even fit to play for Spurs.

Here's the latest scoop on Kane...... from the manager who will make decision on if and when he plays .....
Asked whether Kane would play against Liverpool in Madrid, Pochettino said: "I can't say he's 100%, whether he will be available or on the bench or out, but we are so happy and positive about his progression.
"It's so important that he feels well and we see what happens. I'm very positive about his situation. We have one week ahead to evaluate and see how he's progressing."
The Argentine said he would "be the first one to be happy" if Kane is passed fit, but he would "prioritise the team".
"Football is about team spirit, the collective and faith. Look how we got to the final. When Harry got injured it was in the quarter-finals and look what happened," said Pochettino.
