........and we were robbed of victory in the home league game against Charlton when our last minute goal was incorrectly disallowed.
We are due some luck against them.

Hound, you may have your Rovers vs. Sunderland in the final! Let's hope for another #3 playing #4 in the final!

Come on Rovers.
Sorry lads dont want to predict on play offs.
26 was our best player first half sunday by a long way.

I'm going with 2-1 to Rovers at 90 minutes, and after extra time. Rovers to win on penalties. Copps to score first goal - if he starts, otherwise Marquis. Sadlier to come on as sub and score the winner. Marko to save two of their penalty kicks. Now to come out of my dream!

My sensible prediction would be a Charlton win but can't do that . Rovers to win 2-1 Wilkes to score. Rovers to win on penalties. Good luck mooligan

2-1 to Rivers after 90 mins, win on penalties. Marquis. Full house.

Cheers Yorkshire Lad, what a tussle we've had.
Best wishes to you too
Charlton 2-1 Rovers
Marquis to score
Would so love to be wrong.

Commiserations Donny - was cheering you on tonight.

I hate penalty shoot-outs even when you win. We've had a good season, so it is even more frustrating to end this way. May be if we had played like in the first leg, we would be through.
Anyway, congrats to the lads - and Grant - for getting us this far.
What happens now? Can we keep our loanees now we are not in the Championship? Will Tommy Rowe go to Peterborough? Will Marosi re-sign?
Lots of questions - and what money will Grant have to give us a better season next year?

This was the performance which I dreamed of; I cannot remember a Rovers team that has fought so hard for the cause. As I’ve suggested frequently that this is most effective way of competing in this league and if we had put in this kind of effort throughout the season we would probably have been automatically promoted.

At one stage I thought Charlton were holding back just defending, letting Rovers tire themselves out whilst they contained them and would then just kill them off once Rovers exhausted themselves. But in fact, after 90 minutes it was Charlton that looked utterly spent.

The ending was a cruel one, but it was still our moral victory. As Bowyer admitted, no one this season has done what Doncaster did to his team here.

All credit to McCann. It made you proud of them all.

So proud of the team and the fans last night.
Glad I went as it will be talked about for years as one of those I was there matches.

One of my cousins, an Oxford U fan, emailed me after the game (he had watched on Sky together with another cousin) and said they both thought the Rovers deserved to be in the final.
That was high praise as we often have different opinions on the Rovers vs. Oxford games!

Most of my local football-fan friends watched too and we're full of praise. They thought I would be really upset, but I was just delighted to have seen such a great performance.

So proud of the rovers , pity the penalties were taken at the home end for safety reasons???. Crawford had things thrown at him for his penalty and then the pitch invasion, very safety conscious..Looking forward to next season already

"Doncaster dominated after that. The lip and acerbity aside, they are a good side, a footballing team, with goals in them. And I became increasingly worried as the game progressed. Our passing more sloppy, potential match winners Aribo, Cullen, Sarr, Taylor, Bielik unable to spur us on despite tremendous noise raining down from the stands."

Whilst we may not have quite hit the Zenith last Friday, the achievement, to better the team that is top of the from table was beyond the expectations of most of us, despite our optimistic forecasts. I re-read BVZ’s Article containing his interview with G McC on 18/07/18 and how interesting it was to see how he did as he promised. Thanks again BVZ.

At the start of the season some felt we could make the top 6 and the Snapski man, who did turn more sympathetic later in the season said we would be nowhere near. So credit to those who saw the potential before even seeing us play seriously.

Our anxiety obviously overtook our thoughts on predictions for the play-offs themselves, so there were not many entries, but this is how it all finished. (No one scored any points for the first leg.)

The series champion was Yorkshire Lad who narrowly beat Mooligan with PDXMickey third, so I hope we all join in congratulating them.

In golfing excursions where I play, the winners not only have to buy a drink, but have to organise the next one, but maybe there will be no objection to me continuing. Thanks for participating.

Don, once again many thanks for your wonderful pre match analysis and admin of the DLP.
Im more than happy that you continue in both roles. With the proviso may be a rethink on the crowd element? Stay Sharp or sign Sharp!

Thanks for all your work, Donaldo, and look forward to your thoughtful inputs and number crunching next season. Even if the team faded a little late in the season, I could not imagine a few weeks ago that I"d creep up to third!
