It wouldn't be like Spurs to spend that kind of money on a player. Palace will probably want £70 mil minimum in this current market. So I doubt he goes to Spurs.

Would love for him to come here, definite upgrade on Pedders and Willy who are both 30+

(I may have got off the subject of Zaha slightly)

More like 100m
Only united would pay that so he would have to settle for Europa

I think you underestimate him because he plays for a less glamourous club (with all respect to CP). I think he’s going to be a massive star - and within a year I think we’ll know one way or the other. I’d much prefer to spend our Hazard money on him than Coutinho.

I like Zaha but £70 million for a forward who almost never gets into double figures is an absurd amount of money.

This season he managed just 10 goals in all comps and that's actually the first time he's ever got to double figures in a season in his career.

For all his attributes he isn't a regular goalscorer and for a forward/attacking player that's quite a noticeable flaw in his game and definitely one that should be reflected in his price tag.

Personally I think that if we're going to be spending lots of money on an attacking player then it should be one with a proven record of scoring goals - something we're hugely lacking in the squad right now.

I take your point Superb, but just for some perspective, here are some statistics on goals from players outside the top 6 this season:

Vardy - 18 (but he is a central striker)
Wilson - 14 (but he is a central striker)
Richarlison - 13 (this could be seen as a direct comparison)
Jimenez - 13 (but he is a central striker)
Murray - 13 (but he is a central striker)
Barnes - 12 (but he is a central striker)
King - 12 (but he is a central striker)
Milivojevic - 12 (but he takes free kicks and penalties for CP)
Chris Wood - 10 (but he is a central striker)
Zaha - 10
Deeney - 10 (but he is a central striker)
Anderson - 9 (this is a direct comparison)

So the only 2 on that list above that could really be seen as direct comparisons are Richarlison, who has a very good goalscoring record at 13, and Anderson, who I also rate very highly - and he scored 9 goals. Zaha had 5 assists incidentally, which doesn't sound terribly high although Richarlison had 1 for comparison. Plus I am pretty sure Zaha won some penalties, and I'm not sure if that counts as an assist.

Anyway, my point is - for a winger Zaha actually gets a fair few goals, and assists when you put things into perspective. And I suspect he would get a whole lot more playing for a top 6 team. Plus he's already used to playing in the premier league, and living in London, so you could expect him to hit the ground running. I still think he is being hugely underestimated.

Zaha got 10 goals & 11 assists this season.

I think that's pretty good going for a team that has struggled a fair bit this season.

Similar to Hazard, he draws a lot of defenders close and manages to get away from them and gets fouled quite a lot too. Wins a lot of penalties for Milivojevic to put away.

I've been impressed with Zaha a lot of the times I've watched CP this year. He's definitely an upgrade on Pedro & Willian.

And like BlueJ2 said, there'll be none of that getting used to the league stuff with him and settling in business. He'll be ready straightaway.

Ok but you've only included league goals there. I'm talking about total goals scored in all comps.

Whatever way we paint it Zaha doesn't score a lot of goals for an attacking player. He doesn't have a terrible scoring record either but my point is simply that he's not a £70 million player based on that.

I'd take him at Chelsea as he's probably an improvement on Willian and Pedro and he could potentially improve his scoring record here. But not for £70 million or anything close to that figure.
