At last the transfer rumours, well done Perton.

Not sure about Rondon, good player but a bit old.
Good backup player so possibly an impact sub.

Rondon confirmation? Express & Star ?

You think Wolves will come back in for Origi?

posted on 18/5/19

I would love us to go back in for Origi but I suspect Liverpool will hold on to him after his performances late in the season

Have to say I was impressed by Rondon last season and wouldn’t say no to him being our third striker

posted on 18/5/19

Yea,third striker is about right, big and strong when we need it.

Would definitely try for Origi, but not much chance.

posted on 18/5/19

Origi only has one year left and I cant see us offering a new one or him taking it at this stage in his career. Saying that Im surprised he didnt make the move last time.

Klopp rates Brewster. Wouldn't surprise me to see Origi go while his stock is high. His numbers per minute ratio is very good tbf and he'd be a good fit in that left to central channel for Wolves imo.

Would possibly prefer Origi to Rondon, more mobile and versatile, but possibly a bit too similar to Jiminez.

There's already a Summer 2019 transfer thread up. It's got over 100 posts at the moment. I think we should just use that one to avoid confusion.

Don't expect too many arrivals. I fully expect for us to offload a lot of the 25 players that were out on loan last season.

posted on 19/5/19

Rod Miranda won't be staying at Olympiakos after the club decided not sign him after his unsuccessful loan.

posted on 19/5/19

Can only see Rondon as a impact sub, he does offer something that we haven't got, especially against the relegation fodder.

....but Perton's has to be the definitive transfer window thread. Its the law around here.

Would definitely take Origi and Zinchenko if that one arose again but if he wouldn't leave last year i can't see him moving now.

At least it shows that we were targeting the right player again as Zinchenko was an unknown a year ago and now starts for the best club in the land

Connor Ronan signs a new 2 year deal.

So will qualifying for the europa league change the minds of any outgoings in the summer. I wouldn't be surprised if Cavaleiro and Costa will be given a repreive.

posted on 20/5/19

Not sure reprieve is the right word for Costa and Cav, there's been no suggestion as yet that they are surplus to requirements. There may however be second chances for players like Bonatini, Hause, maybe even Zyro & Miranda as a result of the Europa league games.

Sounds harsh, but we could use them for the qualifiers and still offload them before the end of August if necessary.

posted on 20/5/19

Don't see any of those pulling on a wolves jersey again goldi other than perhaps Hause.

As for Costa and Cavaleiro. We need better, Costa will go for sure as he showed just about nothing last season but worse than that he showed little mental toughness to be able to get over his loss of confidence.

posted on 20/5/19

I would tend to agree Cinci had we not qualified for the Europa but with Jeff Shi saying that we are going to stick with the small squad, some of the fringe and ex-loan players we have may come in useful as many have experience of these type of games.

We might get away playing a few kids in the first (second qualifying round) match but after that they would get smashed all over the place. And it wouldnt be fair or good for the club to ask a squad of 16/17 players to play 50 plus games in a season.

posted on 20/5/19

I get the impression with Costa and Cavaleiro that they have concluded they may be better making a fresh start, and I would have thought they won’t be short of offers. And those two, maybe with Traore and Saiss are our best chance of getting decent money in to help develop the squad.

Funny situation with Wolves right now. I think many supporters are happy with what we have. But the owners are hell bent on us improving every season. Quite the opposite to most clubs, including Wolves pre Fosun. Then it tends to be the supporters wanting the club to splash the cash, and the owners telling them they need to stay within their means.

bbc sport football that wolves could be one of the handfull of european clubs that could be in for gareth
bale.
...................................

Where else - PSG, Bayern or Wolves?

Among the other clubs being spoken of as likely suitors, Bayern Munich are looking for a wide player but Bale does not fit the same age range as their first choice, Chelsea's Callum Hudson-Odoi. Paris St-Germain would probably need to sell one of their own big names to create space, meanwhile, and only one of the Milan clubs will qualify for next season's Champions League, and both are set for summer upheaval on the coaching front.

One other interesting option for Bale could be Wolves, who have made no secret of their ambition, and who have now qualified for next season's Europa League.

In the past, given their links to powerful agent Jorge Mendes, Wolves officials have suggested the game's biggest names would be on their radar if the opportunity arose.

After finishing seventh this season, a move for Bale would be a significant statement of intent.

posted on 21/5/19

Would probably prefer Hudson-Odoi to be fair. Bale would have his choice of any club in the world and whilst Wolverhampton has a number of irresistible attractions, we're still someway down the pecking order. Besides he will be 30 by the time the season starts, don't see him being the type of investment (even on loan) that Fosun see as good business. 5m plus wages for Moutinho made perfect sense, a huge loan fee and astronimical wages, not so sure.

posted on 21/5/19

Hudson Odoi looks a great prospect but I can’t see Chelsea letting him go, particularly as the club are banned from signing new players this summer.

Other rumours concern the play off finalists Villa and Derby. Villa will need to sell players in the summer to avoid ffp problems and Wolves are one of the favourites to get Grealish if they don’t go up. And Derby’s best player this season has been Liverpool loanee Harry Wilson who despite being a midfield player has been their top scorer with 16 goals and 4 assists. Liverpool are evidently willing to sell in the summer and Derby couldn’t afford him if they don’t go up and Wolves are being linked

posted on 21/5/19

No to Bale, too expensive and not a team player, too individual.
No chance with Hudson-Odoi.

Grealish possibly.

Wilson would be a good fit.

posted on 21/5/19

Don't agree there boston, Bale is still one of the best players in the world and would improve any team, just think that the chances of him coming to Wolves anytime soon are very very small.

Not keen on Grealish, decent footballer maybe, but not the sort of character that would fit in to our dressing room I don't think. Wilson might be worth a punt though. Not seen much of him but what I have seen has been good.

Play off final could be make or break for Villa, cant see them hanging on to Grealish or buying Abraham or El Ghazi if they lose.
