Easiest Fa cup run in history

Manchester City unlike Tottenham take the domestic cups seriously.

If you don’t take then seriously you ain’t gonna win them.

Simple.

Agree Don, but they still beat the sides out infront of them. We lost to Palace, who can be decent, but are not vastly greater than Brighton, Watford or Burnley who City had to play. I'm not sure Spurs would have made the final given the same run City had.

Not denying that, just think the Fa cup has been incredibly kind to them.

City probably rotated just as much as us they just have quality throughout their squad.

I am sure if we had Sane and Jesus as second string players we would also cruise through the domestic cups.

but I think Arsenal might be one of the other clubs to have had a really easy Fa cup route once when they won it

FA cup winner 2014: Arsenal

Route to the final: beat Spurs (2-0), Liverpool (2-1), Everton (4-1)...

Not that one. There was another Fa cup run which was similar to City’s.

Tbf didn’t we have a easy run last season until we played united in the semi?

Can’t really knock it as it’s the luck of the draw. They probably would’ve knocked pretty much any other team out anyway.

Don, their league cup was easy as well, Oxford, Fulham, Leicester, Burton and Chelsea in the final, whom they only beat on Penalties.

Spurs played Watford, West Ham, Arsenal and Chelsea in the same competition, all Prem sides and three London Derbies.

City have had an absolute doddle of a run in both domestic cup competitions. No coincidence when they came up a against a half decent side in the CL, Spurs, they were dumped out.

But we don’t.

Rotation never works for us.

No guarantee mate. They faced their first real decent side in the CL and got knocked out over 2 legs.

When was the last time Spurs beat two (2) top flight clubs in an FA Cup run? I've gone back to the start of this decade and still haven't found one.

posted on 19/5/19

Didn't they also have a run recently (arsenal) where they played Reading, Villa, Brighton and Boro?

Iv always been convinced they get decent draws.

Man City

Great point then

Thats all very well but I was out on the beer with some like minded individuals during the final and nobody gave a toss. If your team doesn't win these things then City are the 2nd best option because everyone shrugs their shoulders and says "what a surprise".

All folk are talking about is the cl final, thats whats getting peoples juices flowing. Thank goodness Spurs stopped City boring us to death in that as well.

The league is food and drink however the CL is the pinnacle and the biggest club competition in the world.

Its also the best way to market yourself for potential transfers as well as all the top players want CL footy

Very convenient of them to omit the last two teams. 😂😂😂

Two non league teams in the 5th round and 6th round is absolutely unprecedented. You cannot get more lucky than that.

City should not have reached the final.
Swansea were cheated.

Spurs were not cheated in the CL because of VAR

posted on 19/5/19

Weird thing about their draw is even if other top 6 sides got to the semis, they still wouldn't have played a top 6 side until the final.

United beat Chelsea and Arsenal before losing to Wolves. Liverpool lost to Wolves, and Spurs lost to Palace who were knocked out by Watford.

There wasn't a single top 6 side on City's side of the draw.

And THIS is why WE are in the CL Final and not Mancunian Citay. Compare our CL Cup run to that shower of sheet's FA Cup run
