The Zidane quotes are apparently fake
I’d take Bale on loan and take James aswell. Bale with his experience and the welsh connection you just never know in terms of helping James along. For Bales injury record he can produce something special from nothing. Something we don’t have in our squad
It would be good for some our younger players to see someone like Bale in the changing room to look up to with his 4 CL medals and how he was written off at first and rose to the top of the game.
Right now the players don’t really have anyone like that sitting across from them in the changing room. Just the likes of Instagram Lingard and Mike Smalling
Then what actually happens is they see Bale playing like a caaaaaant on the pitch, not working for the team and shirking responsibility and think “how is this Welsh Sanchez priiiiick earning four times what I do?”.

I'm pretty sure the view is different for pros who have played the game for over a decade and see it as a job.

As do I. So few are the players who just see it as a job, that it's actually newsworthy when they state as such. Assou-Ekotto and Ben Foster come to mind, but I can't think of many others

Really don’t know where you get the idea Bale is a lazy player. And the Sanchez comparison is a lazy one. Bale hasn’t had all those consecutive summers of football like Sanchez had nor is his style one where he ran himself into the ground for years and years and years.

The guy can be absolute quality and one of the best players around. If we were offered him on loan why wouldn’t you take it? Him or Lingard on that right hand side

It’s very hard to gauge too much from this current version of Real Madrid as they’re a mess right now.
A disgrace how he has been treated. Madrid always been a classless club. Let's see what Zizou is made of without the GOAT.

Bales hardly inspirational these days
He doesn't even play enough for anyone to know if he's still got it
He’s been like this for years, Rob. It’s not a recent thing. The recent thing is him not being much good, though.
He still has quality but just brings too much baggage. We’ve already got issues in the dressing room, Bale would just contribute to that.
I can see the value of a loan if we can get a Bale that doesn’t bring all the negatives, but I’m just not convinced we’d get that.

Imagine the absolute difference our right will see with the likes of Wan-Bissaka and Bale there. We would look back on the dark days of Young and Lingard with a gentle shudder and pray it never is that bad again

Ed won’t care about stuff like that. He will just see dollar signs at the prospect of marketing another superstar.
like most on here I do not want bale as the risk was not really worth what he would cost in transfers and wages
but if the opportunity for a loan arises which represents a lesser risk, i will not be against it us signing him as long as it is not silly money involved
There had always been something about Bale that I have never liked. Possibly that he looks like an extra from Planet of the Apes.
