I know what you mean, how dare they spend millions of pounds on quality player to make themselves a better side.

Grrrrr I say...
Grr to them I say...

Can’t blame the lad if he leaves.
Had 25000 people on his back for 2 seasons and plenty more on social media.

Hope he stays but if he goes I won't blame him - bigger pay packet and opportunity to play in the PL.

Ultimately he has to put himself and his career first.

..and if he does go I will say thank you Kalvin and by the way you proved me and a lot of other people wrong.

Most of you here just accept everything, and take it on the chin, yeah let him go, let that one go, same old cliche, let Byram, Becchio, Beckford, Snodgrass, Howson, etc. etc. etc etc..............the list goes on I could even mention Cantona, or Joe Jordan. What's the point, it is a vicious circle and we'll never go up if it goes on like this selling our best players, sometimes enough is enough.

Norwich said they'll be spending 20 mil next season, they wont be spending 3/4 of that on Phillips.

Unless you're top of the pile then vultures will circle and players will be offered better terms elsewhere. You'd think the penny would have long since dropped for someone old enough to remember Joe Jordan's playing career...

Can't see this happening. I think Phillips will give it another season. It's not like he's been at this level of performance for years, this is his first season playing as well as this.

"yeah let him go,"

Problem is with sitting in front off a computer and pressing a few buttons on a football forum is we ain't got much say on it!..

If a player decides he wants out and someone puts a tempting offer in they'll go no matter what anyone here says!..

Cantona, went because off someones wife as far as I read on these boards, oh, and the clubs boss wanted some brass!..

Jordan, he wanted to hold his best buddy's hand, so, we couldn't say much there either!..

Snodders, he gave the club enough chances to let him know which way it intended going, and they didn't!..

Byram, wanted to stay, again one that the club wanted to cash in on!..

Howson, not sure but I think he wanted to stay as well!..

Beckford wanted out, so, could only accept that one!..

Becchio, he's another that wanted to stay but I'll stay well out off that one!..

It all boils down to money, Norwich now have a sack full and are going to use it, all we can do is hope Bielsa stays and it keeps them on our side, if not, than the club have to back Bielsa,(or who ever!)with as good as or even better players!..

Problem is what will those players cost us?..

Hate these Fcking tin pot lower end PL teams. It does my head in.

He has been my player of the season.

I imagine Bielsa will have been told if we get offers for these players we’ll cash in and reinvest.

It's not as if the three mentioned clubs are big hitters Southampton and Bournmouth didn't do anything, and Norwich are going to have to prove themselves. I don't think Kalvin Philips is daft enough to risk his premiership hopes on these three this season. I think it's a better choice to give it one more go at Leeds, considering the way we are going now, especially if Bielsa stays and gets some good additions early.

posted on 20/5/19

Bielsa is the key to our push this year, the players know what to expect with him, and others on the outside will have taken notice off what he has done and will be thinking, what if!..

Our youngsters, they have to be well advised and the finger should be pointed in the direction off what happened to others that thought they were ready for the top flight and failed, they shouldn't go thinking they're ready before the time is right, another season by us should help them and hopefully when they think they're ready we are in a position to have a say on which way they want to go!..

posted on 20/5/19

Given the progress that weve made under Bielsa, I'd be staying if I was Phillips.

Milner
Lennon
Delph
Rose
Delph
Howson
Snoddy
Cook

Have had and should forget about becoming multi millionaire.

that won't stop them signing our best players.

posted on 20/5/19

Interesting contradiction there, they will poach our best players yet will come straight back down, says one of two things to me. Either the players are not good enough for the premiership and we need better or they are not good enough under anyone but Bielsa.
I personally think Phillips will not leave, Leeds is in his blood, wouldn't be surprised if Kal turns out to be a rarity in the day and age, a one club player.

posted on 20/5/19

i hope you're right elsbels, i think phillips will continue to get better under beilsa but promotion probably has to come next year. there are no one team players in lower divisions unless they're not good enough.

posted on 20/5/19

Think Bielsa will be an attraction for the likes of Phillips and other players at his stage of their careers to stay. While Farke and Wilder did a better job than Bielsa last season, Bielsa will do more for their individual careers and improvement than the two just mentioned

LIW, I find it funny when you give what others say the bollox tag, I think you'll find most of those you have mentioned went when the club had problems or the so called super bosses we've had wanted to cash in!..

And at least one off them came to us from elsewhere and wasn't as young as the players I'm referring to are when he came to us, so he doesn't even belong on that list!..

I'm on about youngsters that went and got no further!..

And I think all those players were older than 17/19yrs when they left us!..

Philips is at an age where he can make his own mind up, I'm saying,(and it was mentioned with others at our club about them being to young!)that these kids need looking after and not making a mistake that could take their careers the wrong way!..

Germany, how are you mate?

Regarding:

Howson, not sure but I think he wanted to stay as well!..

* I remember him being gutted when he left but had to get over it and get on with it. *

Beckford wanted out, so, could only accept that one!..

* Bates offered him the same deal he had when he joined Leeds from a non-League club where he played when he wasn't installing car windows. Can one blame him for leaving? *

I reckon Norwich and Sheff Utd will both come straight back down. Yo-Yo clubs.
