Yeah it's a facking scandal. Trouble is...people will pay it so - supply and demand really.

If anyone sees anyone selling tickets at inflated prices just let the clubs know and they will punish them

Disgrace. Dont get me wrong if you could buy a ticket at face value and sell it for 3 or 4 grand it’s tempting, especially if you boracic lint, but it’s poor form. My pal has over 400 points at Spurs and can’t go, so has sold his ticket at face value to the bloke that sits next to him who can’t get one. That’s what proper fans do, look after each other.

Iv got a ticket and paid £60 for it. I'm not going to lie, it is tempting to cahs in if you could get top dollar for it. I'm not doing it but anyone who says it isnt slightly tempting is mad. Could go along way to paying for my family this year.

Ticket touts have been in operation since football began. It will never stop,. But good that tickets can now be traced back to the original source. If I had a ticket and I could not go, I would give it away to a genuine supporter.

You say fans have been to every home and away game can’t get tickets.

You only needed to go to six CL games and one European away to get a ticket for Liverpool

For Liverpool

Sold back to the club if possible or sold onto another buyer at face value. Anything other than that is unacceptable. No discount on prices because that's cheating the club, no over inflation of prices because that's scandalous. Should be as easy as that, but some people can't resist making a profit.

Some years back I kinda got conned by touts. Twice.

If you work abroad the idea that you can get a ticket at that moment when you are in the vicinity and attend a game in that window is extremely tempting, and that's just a regular game.

This one is a CL final. I can imagine the touts have already made a lot of money selling tickets and also conning gullible people.

I don't see how it can ever be stopped either.

Never knock the hustle.

If a person is willing to pay 5 grand for a ticket then they're the fool.

For me this just shows how stupid people are.

My reading of this is they gave the specific seat numbers on the tickets, either having to show picture of it online or whatever and so were easily traced to seller.

If you wanna make top dollar off your ticket the lesson is do it behind closed doors not in a bidding match.

Anyway....

Its obvious that certain things need to happen with tickets to stop this

a) the power is there today to print a unique barcode on each ticket and print faces on tickets too. Digital print presses can knock out these tickets easily.

b) every fan entering the "lottery" should have to submit mug shot and their unique season ticket details are already available.

c) whoever is hosting the game should... if they want to bid... have installed 2d barcode scanners and each ticket must be scanned before entry. YOu can then ask for ID for every say 5th person. It'll take a while to get into the ground but this is not a mill about type of occasion its get in early.

that'll sort the two clubs out BUT.... the slush funds in the middle seats full of corporates and in theroy some "locals" and across europe clubs... that 60% of the ground will be an issue.

^^^^

I suspect if that was to happen then the fans would suffer in more way than one

Firstly, imagine the queue times to the stadium.

Secondly, the price of it would soon be passed down to fans.

Third, clubs don't actually lose any money on touts so why would they put money into it. Those at the gates etc don't reply care how you got oyur target. Nit let's you in, you get in. Simple.

Lastly, I really don't think this problem is that bad or particarly new. The club has banned 3 fans out of just over 16k. I am sure there are a few more who have sold it on but overall the HUGE majority of fans have bought tickets genuinely and are going. Like myself.

Actuall for these events there are checks before you get into the concourse of the stadium, so that anyone on the concourse are those that already have tickets.

They could do the ticket v ID check then I guess. The stadiums all do have bar code access to get you through.
