Have Barca messed up on De Ligt?

Would be funny if all the top clubs came to agreements were they wouldnt buy anyone who raiola is agent for, wonder how many would drop him then

posted on 23/5/19

I guess it depends on how far he pushes, i assume if a player didnt get the move they wanted because he wouldnt stop demanding a large % they would be mad, but i guess most of the times clubs just pay up so the players think 'oh hes great'

Have a look at what Jorge Mendes makes and is worth.

I don't like Raiola one bit but he seems to get all the flack. They are all as bad as each other. All after the most money they can squeeze out of the game

Barca are definitely a bigger pull as it stands but he might be tempted by being the first big Ole signing, the first of what we all hope to be a new breed, leading us into a new era, where we can compete again.

Ole may have given him assurances of the captaincy a year from now once settled (which would explain the Young rumours), he certainly hasn’t been phased leading a young progressive side to the CL semifinals.

I hope it’s not all media bull, or agents using us as fee / wage raising bait, as for me, this lad is (Mbappe aside) the hottest young prospect around, in a position that is integral to our rebuild process, and a leader / captain to boot - something we haven’t had for years and years.

Young British talent for relatively low fees and a huge wedge on this guy please Eddie.....

Because he makes his clients a lot of money.

So do a lot of agents.

I would be more interested in having an agent (if any) that had my best footballing interests at heart, rather than financial interests.

Mendes is the puppetmaster as far as agents go. He’s basically got Valencia and Wolves on a string.

They shouldn’t really be allowed to have the power that they do in football, to be honest. But if you are a player you want one of those two as your agent because you’re sorted for the rest of your career then.

He will have to wait for a year it seems then. Barca can't afford him. Their financial state isn't that great and their wage bill is obscene. 80% of their total revenue which is actually reckless tbh. Messi Suarez, Dembele n Coutinho I imagine are making that incredibly high. De Jong signed too and talk of Greizmann going too as Barca have wanted him for years.

Don't see how De Lift can go to Bacra this year. He'll have to stay put and join next year or move to somewhere else
.

How many agents make their players as much money as Raiola? One, Jorge Mendes. You’re a fan, your position on what you’d want for your career is based on nothing but your own fandom. Footballers think differently, money is massive, and him and Mendes are the best about in this regard because ot their contacts and influence.

Why can't they sell Countinho or Dembele?

----------------------------------------------------------------------

They can but they will find it tough due to wages and asking price.

Dembele seems to be a real fan fav and they have stayed loyal to him despite his injury setbacks. Don't see him leaving.

Who is going to buy Coutinho? £140m and 400k a week. PSG's money tap is being turned off which for me is the only realistic place he could go.

Coutinho isn’t earning £400k a week. It’s about half that.

I think that City would be foolish not be to in for this guy. He could potentially replace Kompany for the next 10 years.

.................

It doesn't seem that long ago that Otamendi was the next big thing on here.

Always hard to know what is actually going on when agents and clubs use the media as part of their negotiations.

I really don't think he's available. Unless he wants to come of course.

I like Stones, he is a decent defender and I think he will develop into a very good one. Don't ever see him being a leader in the same way as De Ligt.

Moves for £140m and is making about what Luke Shaw makes? Yeah not buying that.

Messi is supposedly on 650k a week and Suarez n Coutinho both on over 350k.

Their wage bill is 80% of total revenue for a reason. They didn't get there by giving Coutinho 200k a week which is pretty standard money these days at the elite clubs

Where do you get all your figures from?

Do you have access to all major football clubs accounts or something?
