Not arssed as long as we rinse Bayern.

He's a player that they want but we could live without.

After the abuse Hoeness has hurled at City recently we should absolutely take them to the cleaners.

Different translations floating about. But none of them are an admittance of tapping up.

Times change. Sterling is now a bigger asset than Sane for us. I’m sure if we recoup a good fee, plus all the revenue this year, we still “won’t be spending money we earned” this summer 😂

Absolutely mental you’re considering selling him, he’s your most talented winger for me. Would kill to have him at United

Prefer to keep him if we can, his pace and direct running terrifies defences.

They’ve probably learnt from the mistakes that Spurs, Arsenal, Chelsea and we have made with letting player’s contracts run down, so are selling at the right time.

Happened to us with Milner.

He said he was going to sign a new contract and we stupidly believed him.

Yeah that’s true. Though I was thinking more along the lines of the club’s most valuable assets, as was/is the case with us, Spurs, Chelsea and Arsenal.

When he’s on form, I agree he’s brilliant. It does come with caveats though and with Guardiola, the team is far more important.

Did he? Any evidence of that one or is this like the claim in your article?

Precisely. He has the potential to be the very best (since he will peak in a post Messi/ Ronaldo world) whether he does or not remains to be seen though. Two seasons ago when the Sterling to Madrid rumours were bubbling about I would of taken the money and preferred to keep Leroy. Now Sterling, and Bernardo are bigger assets for me - although sure the latter will get more game time in the middle.

Perhaps he would have if city guaranteed him playing time.

Doubt you can actually back that up though.

It wasn’t about playing time as such, he played a lot for us in his last season with us. It was that he wanted to play in his preferred position. That didn’t work out too well for him though!

Maybe his love for Liverpool was so great that he’s happy making the odd substitute appearance at FB and he’ll regard missing out on 6 medals as a price worth paying

It absolutely was about playing time, at least according to him.

“I thought at times at City I won player of the month and then didn’t play for three, four or five games after,”

“I feel here if I play well, I’ll keep the shirt. It’s down to me."

“I had a lot of conversations with the hierarchy at City and they never said a bad word about me. It was just their opinions on where I fitted in. They saw me as a big part of the club. However, when it came to getting to finals, and things like that, the default was for me not to play.

“That was the way it is and I want to play as much as I can and look back on my career.

“I could have easily stayed at City and been there another four or five years, being around the club, helping us win things. But over the next few years I wouldn’t have played as much and my game time would have reduced.”

“I only had one season at Aston Villa in the middle and that prompted City to spend a hell of a lot of money for me,” said Milner.

“I was in the team of the year and went to the World Cup that year as arguably one of the most in-form centre midfielders in the league. You know, I never really got that chance at Manchester City and developed into a utility player.

“But Manchester City were not interested in me when I was playing out-wide at Newcastle. It’s one disappointment that I did not get the chance to maybe play 20 games in the middle and show people what I could do.

"It was very frustrating at times during my career there.

“I think you want a fair crack of the whip and if you’re playing well then you deserve to hold onto the shirt.

“There were times when I felt like I could have done a job in there, but the manager makes the decision and it’s no good for the team if I’m kicking up a fuss.”

“If you're the manager and someone is kicking down the door and sulking and ruining training, and you've got someone else who gets left out of the team and carries on, who are you going to leave out as a manager? It's just human instinct.

“I always feel the team comes first and that's the way it is and me being a disruptive influence because I'm not playing doesn't help the team.”

Yes towards the end of his contract he started playing more but that's because they didn't want to lose him on a free.

I say he deserves respect for how he conducted himself at City, filled in many positions without fuss, worked hard for the club and gave his all. Then when his contract ended, he moved to a club which didn't have as many players at the level City players were at, where he hoped he'd play more. He has and much more in his preferred position. Now he just needs to add the trophies. Hopefully first one in a couple of weeks, one that he wouldn't have won at City.

I know he said that, it’s not backed up by what actually happened though. He did play in our big games that season.

I don’t overly have a problem with him, just wish he’d made his mind up earlier so we could have recouped some money.

He probably wanted to see what City's plans for him were, as he said he found out they saw him as a utility player and didn't play him centrally, so he moved, as was his right. Not like you need the money is it?

posted on 24/5/19

Of course we need the money

At the time especially, absolutely we did.

Again though, we’re arguing about conjecture really.

After playing for two nothing clubs like Schalke and Abu Dhabi Blues..... Leroy deserves to play for a real elite club. One with prestige. One with actual history and whose fans actually turn up.

Good decision by Sane to leave for the bigger club.

The bitterness of these guys grows daily. Another year of failure and now they face not being the best League club in Salford from next season. Tough times ahead at the swamp.

Lol. Spends too much of his time talking about City for a man who claims not to care about City 😂
