Im not bothered either way.. I live in the US (Now a US Citizen) but I thought the EU was flawed from the outset. I do suspect the UK operates better under the umbrella of the US better than it does as an uncomfortable partner in the EU ?

It’s essentially TTIP with add ons for procurement (ie US pharmaceuticals and insurance companies). Plus (as widely reported) lowering SPS (hygine standards) to accomodate their agri-food sector.

You're right to laugh at Trump...... But he'll change the whole dynamic of Brexit and trade going forward if a free trade deal between the US & UK can be put in place. I think May did a poor job not using /building her relationship with Trump so that she could have used it in her negotiations with the EU. She was walking into a gunfight with a pocket knife every time she went to Brussels

It'll never bring free movement, apart from the free movement of the last remains of our NHS down the plughole and the free movement of the large US companies who will change our laws to suit them.
TTIP is a horrific prospect. In fact any free trade deal with the US is horrifying.
A US style insurance based health system would be brutal and as always would only suit the very top earners who can afford the very best insurance.
A trade deal with the US is lunacy. IMO.

We already have a number of preferential market access agreements with the US but a FTA looks impossible.
The US trade department (USTR) released it UK objectives earlier in the year, and it’s a wish list of preferences which offers the UK very little:

It’s essentially TTIP with add ons for procurement (ie US pharmaceuticals and insurance companies). Plus (as widely reported) lowering SPS (hygine standards) to accomodate their agri-food sector.
