Regards Akram 100% agreedbut 100% disagreement with Warne. Warne- best ever bowler but I believe Warne overachieved, he got a lot of wickets because batsmen were intimidated when facing him.

Australia XI
Hayden
Slater
Bradman
Ponting
Border
S Waugh
Gilchrist
Warne
McDermott
Lillee
McGrath
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Lindwall for Mcdermott?
Barefoot from what I remember it was a VERY successful winter.
Won the Ashes, won the triangular series vs Aus and WI
Won the Perth Challenge and beat Pakistan in the final
Unfortunately Gatting had very little success as captain other than that winter.
Warne got banned from the 2003 WC and I’m not sure he played ODI cricket again, I think he could’ve done more in ODI

Shows, every one is human, the best had dark days as well. Most consistent player ever would be Mcgrath who never suffered blip in bowling form .

I had a great video about that winter, called On Top Down Under.
I think lots of Aussie bowlers could play
O Reilly, Grimmett, Benaud, Lindwall and Thommo
I really liked McDermott, felt the Aussie side of 1994 was very underrated and McDermott led the attack so well
I feel McGrath was great and even did well in the subcontinent, but I feel he would drift out of Tests a lot. Sometimes he would seem quite innocuous. Many people would disagree, but I felt Donald was more consistently dangerous than McGrath.
SouthAfrica all time XI
1) Barry Richards
2) Kirsten
3) Amla
4) Grame Pollock
5) Kallis
6) AB Develliers
7) Quinton
8) Shaun Pollock
9) Mike Procter
10) Steyn
11) DOnald
Smith
Gibbs
Kirsten
Amla
De-Villiers
Kallis
Boucher
Pollock
Steyn
Donald
Tahir
I would pick the same SA XI, but instead of De Kock, I would choose Boucher or have AB with the gloves and choose McMillan or Clive Rice? Is that allowed?
SA have never really had an outstanding spinner, Tahir is good but I’ve only seen him in white ball cricket, not sure what he has done in Tests.

He has been thrashed
Yes Adams will do, anyone but Symcox or Harris
Most teams have had a batsman who can bowl spin, but I'm struggling with South Africa.
Smith bowled a bit of spin I think
There was a guy Petersen, but he was a pretty mediocre batsman
South Africa and Windies barring Gibbs have struggled in this department and thats the reason why they lost so many important games like Windies and South Africa collapsing against Warne in 96 and 99 semis of WC respectively.
I forgot to do my Pak XI
Hanif Mohammad
Saeed Anwar
Zaheer Abbas
Miandad
Inzamam
Imran Khan
Rashid Latif
Wasim Akram
Waqar Younis
Abdul Qadir
Shoaib Akhtar
Speaking of WI spinners, what happened to SUnil Narine?

The Windies have had Richards, Hooper, Gayle, and Arthurton at least.

He was ok.
Looks like i mis-read ptid's post, who was obviously on about spinners in general and not batsmen who can bowl spin.
